Other than the area pushing down through into Worthing, which will clear soon, there's nothing more to come for a while, and the stuff out West is already falling as rain in many places.

What are the chances for the rest of the week ? Friday ?

Light dusting here, roads are clear too.

Weather isn't brilliant for snow for the rest of the week according to Metcheck. Only snow may be on Thursday, with anything after falling as rain as it will be warmer.

Not a total non-event, but not as expected.

The models are still all over the place at the moment, which makes specific day forecasts hard. We could be anything from cold easterly, through a blizzard to Spelbergs favoured mild weather by then. The key is whether the jet undercuts the block or goes over the top.

Bu we know what will happen. The mild will win, as it always does.

Very minimal settlement on Brighton and Hove border, take care on The Drove though from Hampstead to Robertson and Sourh Road tunnel. Not much more as I approach Haywards Heath. Over.

It might, yes. What slightly annoys me is your continual emotional forecasting. I try to keep my contributions factual and impartial on here, but you then turn up with a seeming desire to disagree. Why not have a look at the data out there and then contribute. Please?

Edit to add: Unless if course it's all a clever reverse psychology trick to guarantee snow :)

A few flakes fell in Leeds overnight but not just looks like a heavy frost.

Papa, the wife is going to Brussels Wed morning, what chance of snow then?

Brussels itself looks like snow on Tuesday and blooming cold on Wed, but other than an odd snow shower mainly dry.

The UK looks cold with the dd snow snow by then (depends on where she's flying from of course - stansted is nearer the E coast, so more showers, for example)

The key is the degree of uncertainty at the moment, and as with such setup, snow can appear at very short notice, once the cold conditions are in place.

She's on the Eurostar Papa, I'm just a bit concerned about her getting to St Pancreas on our wonderful railways.

what do YOU think will happen, will the front from the west win over the Sussex battle grounds? or could the beast from the east still prevail?

I think that with the air to the east being cold, but not very cold, we will probably see a snow to rain event here, with snow further north.

The models are indicating a continued blocking signal however, so it may only be a brief milder respite, as cold returns.

It should be noted that the models only bring a tentative return to milder air and the output over the next few days may show a move towards cold or more decisively mild
