Slight difference between football and cricket, the umpires descision is final, especially with the video evidence.
Ponting; great player, total wanker when losing

Poyet referee outburst, great he shows passion, Ponting umpire outburst disgrace. Double standards??

Conduct and respect went out a long time ago in football. Cricket still has them and defends them properly. Poyet does get tiresome in his complaints about refereeing though.

40% match fee fine is a joke, should have been a match suspension

Even Aussie's agree
"If I was an adjudicator I'd find it a suspendable offence. It's not like it's the first thing that has happened with him - that's the thing "

Former Australia captain Ian Chappell

Perhaps the umpires should be able to send a player off and not permit him to take part in any more of the game either bat , bowl or field. Revolutionary I know but would it work especially as in most cases each player is a specialist in something either batsmen bowler or wicketkeeper. It would mean they would have 1 less fielder and 1 less batsmen so it would hit the offending players team hard.

I wouldn't want Ponting suspended for a match against us, he is a weak link and by playing it only increases our chances, the PIN EYED twunt really has lost it and we can humiliate him again.

He's no weak link - still one of their best fielders even with one hand, and although out of from, a really classy batsman. His outburst was out of order and I don't want to see it, but I'd rather play, and beat their strongest team, to give them no excuses for losing (if and when).

I taught Prior everything he knows, including how to look like me!

I can't believe we got through to the close with no more wickets down, bearing in mind the way we were batting up until tea.

If Prior had gone to Johnson instead of it being a no ball, we would have been around 280 odd for 6. Think we would have lost a couple more before close of play. The effect on the Aussies following that great decision by the umpire was huge.

I've just been recording the whole day's play, waking up about 8am and watching/fast forwarding through it. Great not mucking up my body clock even if it is cheating somewhat

Morning session could be hilarious if we are under orders to hit out after Prior gets a ton.

Punter might lose a bit more of his match fee :lolol::lolol:

To be fair to the Australians although hopelessly outclassed they have at least made a fist of it and not given up.

I think that we will go for quick runs and hopefully put on another 80 by lunch which will put it beyond the Aussies if its not now. As I said earlier declare with 30 - 45 mins to go to lunch and hoepfully geta wicket. The alternative is to bat after lunch and keep them in the field and then declare after an hour after lunch. 2 different ways to go I would go for the former but then I am not Andrew Strauss.

I think Strauss will actually bat for as long as possible and is still haunted by the loss we once had when we racked up a huge total.
