Here's the plan. £100 Australia 10/11 and £100 England 7/2. Outcomes leave one £9 down or £350 up. The draw leaves you £200 down. Little rain forecast, it's Edgbaston and the first 2 Tests were over before 6 on Day 4.
Thinking about it.

Did it! 5-1 Australia now, 2/7 England and 12-1 draw. Think I will stick for now.

Surely £9 down or £250 up?

England squad for the fourth Ashes Test:

Alastair Cook (Essex) (Capt), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Mark Footitt (Derbyshire), Adam Lyth (Yorkshire), Liam Plunkett (Yorkshire), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), Mark Wood (Durham).

Assuming we are unchanged, apart from the injured Anderson... I would like to see Mark Wood re-joining the attack.

Broad, Finn, Wood, Stokes, Ali and Root is plenty of bowling for Trent Bridge.

This could potentially all go horribly wrong for me. Even though none of the three tests so far have made day 5, there is the possibility now of England winning the Ashes back on Monday 10th August, a day where I have no choice but to be stuck in the office

Siddle is set to play having played for Notts, having taken 8 wickets in our victory in the Ashton Agar Test and Starc becoming Mitchell Johnsons former self from 2009. Plenty of upheaval behind the scenes for the inbred, infighting Aussies. Get a grip Clarke. Oh no, I forgot, you dropped it.

Betting England a juicy 9/4, Dad's Army favourites at 5/4 and a very popular draw 5/2. Would bet on both Aaustralia and England again but the possibility of a draw would lose £200. No rain forecast yet. Is a draw really as likely as a Jimmyless English win?
Advice please NSC but not if you're going to tell me we are going nowhere without KP.

Rumour that Mark Wood's favourite curry is chicken jalfrezi, and doesn't like poppadoms or mint sauce.

I swim in the sea and eat ham and eggs before the start of first days play. Not at the same time. Without this who knows what Clarke may do. I also have to keep this thread alive or the destiny of the Ashes will be beyond my control.

Anyone think a draw likely after last years reprimand?

I will be in the local at 6pm here absorbing all the abuse with a smile on my face.
Shame I have to go to bed at the tea interval, the last session usually is when the fireworks start to happen.

Will Australia make changes? Shaun Marsh in for Voges perhaps Clarke dropping to 5? Can Adam Lyth turn his series around and become an Ashes hero? I don't think he's far off getting it right, just mentally needs to relax. I've got a bit of faith we'll be all right without Jimmy. With the series as it is, neither side batting well I expect it's a good toss to lose for either, but would love to see us bat today. Come on the lions!!!!

The fate of the urn rests with Titanic getting his arse into gear and starting the 4th Test match thread, before some other idiot condemns us to defeat.

The Oval pitch traditionally has pace and bounce which would favour the Aussies, this is our best bet of securing the Ashes. I don't fancy us at the Oval unless the groundsman can produce a Cardiff type pitch.

Anderson is a huge blow and it will need Finn to step up to the Mark for the second consecutive test, Broad has been Mr consistency this series and I hope he takes Warner's off pole out for 300 wickets.

Is winning this test not our best chance of securing the Ashes!?

EDIT: Oh I see, I have read your post completely arse about face! Sorry....do carry on.:rolleyes:
