Good luck - hope everything goes OK.
Have been recovering from a liver re-section for the last 6 weeks and a YES tomorrow will cheer us both.

Thanks, let's hope so.

I trust the op goes well. My mind tells me it's the tiniest of slits, slapping and shoving a few petulant tubes back in place and asking you to leave quietly and taking it easy in Loveville, Louisiana for a few weeks.

Thanks, yes it is, and that is the hardest part.

I, for one (assuming it is tomorrow and it is 'YES') will be breaking open the Champers outside you-know-where at 6pm. Do feel free to join me for a glass or two...

If you-know-where is where I think it is then you need to bring a football so we can have our first game there ... and as someone mentioned on a much earlier thread a spray can or two of paint to mark out a pitch.

But still a good idea I'm up for it !!

'Yes' not the end in Falmer fight
By Lawrence Marzouk
The Seagulls Party has vowed to pursue its campaign for an Albion stadium at Falmer - even if tomorrow's decision on the proposed 22,000 seater is a "yes".

After ten years without a permanent home, Brighton and Hove Albion is set to find out tomorrow whether plans for a new football ground have been approved.

Almost two years ago, club supporters celebrated on the street as John Prescott gave the green light to the proposal.

advertisementBut the ruling was quashed in the High Court months later after it was revealed the former Deputy Prime Minister had made a mistake in the wording of the document. Seagulls Party members said yesterday that they would not be complacent about another positive outcome tomorrow.

The political group was formed as a direct challenge to the ruling Liberal Democrat group at Lewes District Council which has been fighting the Falmer stadium.

The pro-stadium group confirmed its status as a force in Sussex politics by polling almost a quarter of the vote in its first election. Candidate Ed Bassford came third in the Lewes District Council Ouse Valley and Ringmer ward by-election last year with 359 votes. And at the local elections in May, the party fielded four candidates who polled more 1,600 votes between them. Mr Bassford said he feared the decision could be the subject of an appeal by Lewes council or Falmer Parish Council.

He said: "I am not as fearful of any effective appeal this time compared to last. But the Seagulls Party will be there watching all of this and bringing some pressure to bear.

"The fans in general and members of the party are fed up things are still going on and there is not great anticipation of dancing in the streets. We have been here before so many times.

"But there is some anticipation, although it is not like anticipating a great victory, more like an important goal."

Hazel Blears, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, is likely to reveal her decision to the club tomorrow. Labour MPs from Brighton and Hove delivered a letter to Ms Blears on Friday, urging her not to delay the decision any further.

Or a Glastonbury style festival with loads of drugged-up hippies using the centre of Falmer as an overspill campsite!!

No, you know where is here at the place I'm not allowed to mention - SPORTING COLOURS. We could have a kickabout, but the neighbours might get a bit uppity. In fact, the NLCA are in league with the Falmer NIMBYs. Fuckers the lot of them.

All the more reason to have a kick-about outside the shop surely?

This is the real McCoy not some cava I hope?? :p
Cava is only there for mixing cocktails (Cava, sugar crystals and ginger wine is a particularly simple, but effective favourite of mine), and is there for quaffing rather than savouring.

Possibly some Veuve Clicquot for spraying around the neighbourhood, or some Pol Roger (my personal favourite) for supping serenely whilst mooning the aforementioned NLCA NIMBYs. If we're going to do this - let's do it right.

It was also Churchill's favourite I understand, and seeing the war we've been through seems rather apt. As I'm in France at the moment and will be when the decision is made I may just have to source a bottle and toast from afar :drunk:
