I for one will not be buying the argus after today. Shameful behaviour to tarnish the lives of five young lads in this way.

NSC as "spokesperson" for the club? God help us all if thats the case!

It is though really isn't it? How many other clubs have direct links like ATC on their websites?

How many times have we discussed something, which has been in the local media within hours? Kanchelskis was the prime one which was actually a fib to see how quickly a rumor would spread, and it resulted in statements from the club about the likelihood of signing him.

Only last week we managed to get Toms iPad in the national media!

The problem is that for every 100 posters there is someone that will say "That rapist ..." Which is not proven so could be libel if that person is found not guilty. If it was guaranteed that no-one will overstep that mark then it world be fine to be discussed, I'm sure.

Can you imagine the palace fans discussing this in a delicate manner?

If you take a look at their messageboard, this episode appears to be the highlight of their year.

They were already practising their gay chants, and now they are planning some jolly songs about rape. Selhurst Park is going to be a very classy place on the 31st, and let's hope the "magnificent" Palace fans get full credit for their actions from the media.

The arse end of Hangleton
There are many of us too who don't live in Sussex, so dont have access. Quite a few posts on Facebook / Twitter with a "I can see it and you can't" attitude which is pretty annoying. It's like Ryan Giggs gate all over agin, or can't we say his name any more either?

And before I get the million replies of "it's wrong to post names / NSC could get shut down" etc etc, I know that already (been here long enough to know that NSC seems to be a spokesperson for the club nowadays). It just doesn't seem right that a newspaper can put it on the front of their paper, and yet it still can't be discussed.

Wha is going to happen at football on Saturday? I have no doubt the fans will be talking about it, and you can bet your bottom dollar the away fans will be chanting about it. Will we not be able to talk about what we can hear on the radio / see on telly in the evening?

I think you'll find the difference is the Argus editor has decided to risk possible prosecution - Bozza, understandably, doesn't want to take the risk. Don't know about you but I wouldn't take that risk either for the sake of a chat forum.

I'm not looking at any Palace sites until this episode is resolved. Please tell me some of their goons haven't let themselves down again and setup a kangaroo court already? Anything that gets in the way of the correct legal process needs reporting to be honest.

If it were Palace players named in these sort of allegations, do you honestly believe Brighton fans and NSC would be any different?

I had a glance last night and don't think I'll bother again for a while. Rivalry and banter are fine, but quite a few Palace types appear to have some quite serious personal issues to deal with. Oh well, bring it on. If that's their standard, let's get it out in the open on the 31st and see what their club's management chooses to do about it. It will all be on camera.

Nothing I saw really derails the legal process, to answer your question. It just makes some Palace fans look like they're still on the waiting list for civilisation.

I agree, if NSC can keep a lid on things you'd hope a responsible newspaper could. Very poor show Argus.

There's another interesting question which that article prompts, which obviously I can't mention here.

The Argus has a right and a responsibility to report news. However the question remains was it necessary to report this so emphatically.
