The front page and headline are a bit lurid, if factually correct.

The online reporting I've seen of the trial so far are also factual, and well within the very strict rules on court reporting - the type of 'reporting' rules Stephen Yaxley Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) broke.

The Argus is one of the few local daily news papers that has survived.
I remember when there was the morning version and the final Evening Argus.
The website is a mess with adverts but it is free.
For me it would be sad not to see a daily Argus anymore but I guess it will happen in my lifetime.
I still feel an affection to the Argus and it's an easy to give criticism to a paper in the day of the internet that should have not survived.

It's very poor these days for me. More like a tabloid with poor writing.

The comments section is a thing to behold. Most people, NSC being an example, seem to have grown up in online conduct. To use a course, outdated term, the Argus comments is the remedial class.

The Saturday 'pink paper' Argus used to be amazing. Total football coverage available over the counter of your local newsagent about an hour after the final whistle. Astounding achievement!

Until they moved to Patcham. Used to deliver this to the shops in my car. The press was always breaking down.
When I first started this in Robert Street the first lot of pink would be delivered by 17.30, when they moved you was lucky if the paper was ready before 6pm.

to think back in the 70s the argus woud be the first source of finding out the football scores

by the time i got back to Newhaven after a game

you could buy an argus with the football scores on the back page!

We used to buy The Night Final from Peacehaven newsagents on the way home from yet another Albion home win.

A proper regional paper at the time with, would you believe, journalists of all people. Covering real Sussex news and court cases in almost real time.

I lived on Robert Street for a while. 'Dick Damage reads the Argus' always made me smile.
