Other quotes from her include

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass- it's about learning to dance in the rain"

I swear I have heard that somewhere before. Not sure that is her quote.

Ok, I just saw it on her website. Could you be thinking of "If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain"?

An early morning delivery sends the candidates into the fast-paced world of technology. Lord Sugar challenges the teams to think big and go global as they must design, launch and promote a new mobile phone application.
In the battle for downloads, the teams must create a mobile app and pitch it to three influential technology websites to become 'App of the Day', as well as attempt to convince a huge crowd of bloggers and software experts at a major gaming fair to support the application and increase downloads.
With their apps downloadable for 24 hours, a dramatic result leads to a fierce boardroom battle, and one more candidate faces Lord Sugar's immortal words: 'You're fired'.

have to comment on something alan sugars said.... 'shame the girls didnt spend the 250 quid i gave them and not just 170 quid...'
wait they had to reduce the last of what they had at the end of the day... so why waste 80 quid on waste if you cant sell it in time...
alan sugar.. FFS they spent what was needed, dont spend it for the sake of it!

So if you pay an investment house £50,000 to grow a portfolio you'd be happy if they only invested £35,000 and kept the rest in a current account with negligible interest?

The difference is that the women decided they only had time to turn a profit on the £170.

Except that the fruit salad flew off the shelves.

In some ways it's an admission from the girls that they're pretty rank, lookswise. Last year's totty would have spent the full amount and if Sales were slow by 2pm the cleavage would have come out and those City Boy customers would have been guzzling on melon and peach like there's no tomorrow!

It's a basic error if you don't invest the whole of the amount someone has asked you to invest. If I was Alan I'd be a bit concerned that none of girls pointed this out, AND that they put an HR manager in charge of the finance.

Just far enough away from LDC
I suppose what we don't see is how much produce they had left over/sold at a loss and how much more fruit salad (which was the stock the team were asking to be able to purchase) they could have sold. I thought I heard them say as well that they reduced the cost of the fruit salad as they were starting to reduce the contents due to lack of ingredients.

As usual it's great to see the staggering ineptitude of those selected for the programme which is solely based on ensuring plenty of press coverage and good audience figures. An accountant who has no grasp of the financials of business.......how did they not keep him in for longer? Can't wait to see the characters develop over the coming weeks.

So the best app ideas that these business geniuses can come up with are one for insulting people in a variety of poorly attempted regional accents and one to replicate the annoying noise of people eating popcorn in a cinema.

Mobile apps are my day job and my god they are making hard work of it. I can knock up a soundboard in under half an hour! They don't mention that the iTunes app store can take weeks before it's live either *shrug*

*edit*

Just noticed they're doing it on Blackberry... that app store is a fekking nightmare!
