I went yesterday as I was offered a pair of tickets late Thursday night £40 each.
Met my mate at the casino at the Marina at 1pm and realised the tickets were actually £85 tickets and were in the 1901 club with access to the south mezzanine bar which had no one in there at all, the staff were pleased to see us walk in so they actually had something to do !!
Great atmosphere outside with everyone enjoying lots of beer in the sunshine, and inside was simply amazing.
The people of Brighton should be proud of not only our club and what a great asset our stadium is, but for how welcoming all the locals have been, both in the city and at the ground, it was great to see locals having a beer with both South Africans and Japanese visitors and embracing rugby.
It's a real shame sussex doesn't have a professional rugby club as there is definitely a fan base for one.

Brighton Football Club (sic) (RFU) has been going for 5 years longer than us and is the 6th oldest in the country.
Enough time to get going if anyone was bothered
Saturday was unique....one swallow etc etc

Went to both games, of course Japan v South Africa will stay long in the memory.
Yesterday was a more routine game, but good entertainment.
My ticket was up in the west stand 1901 club. Saw both Tony Bloom and Martin Perry. Would have loved to shake their hands, as they must and deserved to be so proud over this weekend.
From playing at Priestfield, an athletics track and now a beautiful stadium hosting the Rugby World Cup, showcasing the club and city to the world. Just highlights the amazing journey our club has been on.

Can you even BEGIN to imagine their rotting deathtrap being used for anything other than

a) Palace's traditional relegation battle and

b) Anything else

c) At all

d) OK, maybe a car boot sale.

e) In that grotty, pokey little car park behind the main stand

f) Even then, only if they tidied the place up a bit.

g) And to be fair, even car boot sale organisers have some standards.

h) So probably not.

To be fair, over the years Selhurst Park has hosted international football matches, Olympic matches, boxing and crap music concerts.

Along with a number of relegation battles, admittedly.

Astonishing.

Can't believe that they didn't take either of the 2 penalties or have a go at the drop goal.

The AMEX has played host to the greatest shock in Rugby World Cup history ever, possibly even rugby history itself.

Yeah, but it wasn't called 'The Amex' was it. Was it so important that they had to change the name? It wasn't labelled by another sponsor, so why bother? Given the input Amex have put in to the club I thought this cheap behaviour by (presumably) the RWC organisers...

A rival credit card is among the RWC sponsors, so it probably was so important to them.

j) If their pitch is as bad as the rest of the ground - mud wrestling.

All pitches tend to be OK now but in the old days The Goldstone was a lovely greensward while Selhurst had more sand on it than Blackpool beach (ee-aw!)

I disagree, I've been involved in sussex rugby for long enough to recognise the amount of people that travel nort to watch club rugby.
I don't believe there would ever be a following like there is for the Albion, but I do believe you'd get a similar number to SCCC

Football is a moment in history.

I wonder what we'll be watching in 50-100 years time? I doubt it will be football.

Oh,I think it will be. Hopefully it won't be the corporate monstrosity that it has become since Sky got involved - hopefully that'll be unsustainable, long term. But underneath all the crap, it's still The Beautiful Game.

In the moment that is now, we often fail to grasp how different the world will be in 50 years time.

In thinking about the future, most of our ideas are conditioned by how we see ourselves now rather than what will actually happen to us.

When you and I were born who'd have thought that more kids would be playing FIFA16 today than actually go out and play the game physically?

Times will change and the beautiful game will move onto something else.

Hmmmm.

Nah, you and me will be being wheeled in to the Amex to watch the Albion, and being applauded by the crowd for being so old.

Obviously things will come along that occupy the 'youth', but the success of games like FIFA could not happen without the real thing, and so it will always be. In my humble opinion of course.

Dribbling, alone, and the Harveys will still have run out by 2.30pm.

Completely wrong, the opposite is more likely with baseball in freefall, gridirion in kids 20% down re head injuries & rugby 80% up in U.S., basketball just monotonous, the far east & Middle East expanding football (Qatar) like the previous 3 lots of 50 years in the next 50 Football will be BIGGER and most inferior stuff smaller

You've rather proved my point. Your view of the future is based upon how you see the world now.
