Fell asleep during the England game last night but this was fantastic stuff. Dipped in & out but watched last 20 mins.

Where are all those people that used to say we don't need a staduim as we only get crowds of 5k? So proud pf our ground & our City.

This.

People will be going away from Brighton having had the weekend of their lives. The SA's I was talking to before the game in the fanzone were absolutely loving it, and that was before they'd even got to the Amex.

Horrific result from their point of view, but I bet they're having a great night now regardless. I was so proud of my town today.

Was at the match - great game and great atmosphere - now witnessed the biggest upset in world cup history. Can't comment on the catering as I didn't use it personally but plenty of beer being brought back to seats in the north right up to the end of the game so no evidence of a shortage in that area. If the club were on a percentage of the catering today they have made a few bob. Most neutrals supporting Japan as the underdogs and the bloke next to me got a bit excited and threw beer down my jacket but as it was Rugby he did apologise profusely and gave me a paper napkin to wipe it off. The only empty seats were small groups in the 1901 area - maybe the price put people off. From what I could see the rest of the ground was full apart from the odd single.

Was lucky enough to be there today. East Upper did run dry pre kick off but it was sorted in 10 mins. Unforgettable game and immense noise + heard a lot of visitors make very positive comments about the set up. Trains in/out were good. Great event for the City and plenty of fans clearly staying overnight.

Having said all that it is still men chasing a large egg.

The transformation was astounding, like an Amex in a parallel squeaky clean universe where you can drink beer in your seat, applaud your opponents scores and congratulate them on their unlikely win. Well weird. Though maybe not as weird as being, so far as I could see, the sole wearer of the stripes at the Amex in a 29,000+ crowd

And well played Japan on what the BBC are calling 'arguably the biggest upset in rugby union history'. Has to be said, with a couple of minutes to go, the game looked to have 29-29 written all over it.

Just think, if it was not for Dick Knight, Martin Perry, Tony Bloom, The Falmer for All team and everyone that never gave up, that game may never of happened. Bloody NIMBYs could of prevented the biggest upset in Rugby Union History.

Great stuff! I've been looking forward to hearing from those there how it all went. How did the stuff we couldn't see on television hold up - the inner and outer concourses and, of course, the catering?

Absolutely faultless from start to finish. Sure the prices were a little more punchy but from arriving at ten to kick off until leaving half an hour after it was a delight.

Better staff - none that I'd seen for ALBION games, quicker service, less fuss and more action.

This coupled with ability to drink in my seat meant I wasn't fussed about queueing or downing drinks pre match and generally felt like I was being treated more like an actual adult.

This however was all completely overshadowed by what an amazing atmosphere it was. The acoustics were superb and when all four sides got going in support of Japan it was deafening.

Oh how I'd love every Amex experience to be the same!

29219 reported attendance- not sure whether this was tickets sold (as the Albion report for their games) or actual attendance?

Either way could this be the biggest crowd at the Amex ever in terms of actual bums on seats?

Also lucky to have been there today...... Great atmosphere, the stewards where I was were great (north stand corner by west stand) and beer never run out...... What a day! Was seated by a large Japanese contingent who all burst into tears at the end..... Brilliant.

The emotion of the Japanese supporters was clear for all to see on the TV, and they deserved it.

All seemed to work well, there were queues at the kiosks at half time but no more that at a footy game.
