At least you can leave in the 85th minute without anyone moaning at you......

Was talking to a neighbour at lunctime who is a huge rugby fan and played at quite a high level. He predicted a cricket score for SA! Sporting history made at the Amex!

Just back from our truly wonderful epic stadium. What a game with Rugby history made. Jesus we should all be proud of the Brighton Community/Amex/Falmer stadium

Great stuff! I've been looking forward to hearing from those there how it all went. How did the stuff we couldn't see on television hold up - the inner and outer concourses and, of course, the catering?

Pssst, don't tell anyone but catering was a dream! Granted only experienced the WSL but didn't have to wait more than 3 mins at any time to get a pint (if only it was Harvey's). Slightly bemused by the offerings of steak pie, veggie Baltic pie and 'meat' pie, apparently 'meat' is code for chilli con carni but that's on a need to know basis!

5 pints sunk in my seat quite merrily and not a single moan from a superb match (ending was almost Swindon playoff-esque, but not if you get the gist)

WSL is usually OK anyway. Never had any issues.

Maybe it was coincidence but my only previous experiences down there were the Chelsea pre-season, FDM's testimonial (remind me who that was against) and Rod Stewart, all of which had a smaller selection or longer queue. Either way, better than WSU on your bog standard match day.

Brighton factually.....
Went today with the wife and sprig as a nutral' however quickly turned Japanese.... Gotta say in fairness second best atmosphere after Doncaster game a cacophony of noise when Japan went over... Such a good game, and I was so proud it was our ground people around me very complementary about the whole set up.....

Proud

Heineken at £5 a bottle or pint!! My usual beer dispenser in West lower was quiet. Queues for the bogs were immense - which just goes to show what drinking all game does for the bladder. The atmosphere was fantastic and the noise when the Japanese turned down the penalty and then scored was spine tingling. All in all an amazing sporting day. Had loads of fantastic comments about the Amex and Brighton from SAs and Japanese supporters.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Didn't look great when they were scrummaging. I'm fully on board with the club's current ethos of 'marginal gains' and no detail spared - evident in the quality of the facilities at Shoreham, right down to the catering etc. And the standard of fit and finish in the changing rooms at the Amex. Nothing left to chance. Then we go and let people play rubgy on the pitch mid-way through the season.

I think the professional ground staff know the pitch better than us and how it will recover, Im sure that if the pitch stood ANY chance of being ruined the Amex would not have been utilised by the club.

Japan 88-1 to win

South Africa were 1/500 on Bet365

Astonishing, epic result. It was thrilling to watch on TV in the pub, actually being there I can't even imagine. And I don't even cuffing LIKE rugby.
