Easy - regarding our windfall. Good points, but Im worried that the Inland Revenue might turn round and say "I'll have that, thanks".

Our problem is, on a straight numbers basis, we are not THAT much in debt (i.e. £3million being a drop in the ocean compared to most). We have NO assets (apart from the players) and very few income generators. And the uncertainty over falmer breeds more uncertainty.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking along the same lines as Rob, but luckily, to counter that, I'm a blind optimist (it took until the 85th minute at Grimsby before I accepted we were going to be relegated).

BRIGHTON FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 2015!!

whats the point in staying up?? we are up sh1t creek, its been proven that we would be financially better off getting relegated

sell a few more players and stop the begging bowl going round.

all this stems to having no home ground selling players to keep the wolf from the door

250,000 is a bloody good price and fair play to Albion i bet there was an original bid rejected which was much lower to prove that we are not a club which will sell players cheap to reduce our finace issues.

What people forget is yes Ipswich put in a bid but Currie would have to accept the move as well he would want to go and to refuse him would de motivate him and then the player is worthless in the team IMHO

Why is it that as soon as we sell a player for a fee he suddenly becomes great? Darren Currie has been a good player for us this season, but no more. At times he's created goals, at other times he's looked distinctly uninterested. When he's running it's like a slow-motion replay.

Yes he has created a few goals, but not that many. Our wins have all been one nil and he didnt set up all of the goals.

Yes he is a good player, but 'the english Zidane' or 'the Beckham of the lower leagues' as I've seen quoted on some threads today? Now you are really having a laugh

We have pulled in 250K for a player who we got for nothing and who IMHO is not even in the top 5 most important players to our club. Thank you Ipswich, thank you very much indeed.

Ditto, Albion Rob is deluding himself to think we could ever have kept Currie anyway, how much will Ipswich pay him a week. Its sad he`s gone but 250K for him is a bloody good deal. As for the state of the clubs finances, i do not really know what the club has to do to wake everyone into reality, they have stated they are 2.3 Million short of keeping the club going, not 2.3Million short of a New Players budget! You ask why it is West Ham etc don`t have to do this but its obvious why, theyve got 20 to 30, 000 bums on seats every game. The Club is in the shit financially, even with this money and the spurs £4-500,000 and the alive and kicking fund I still make it we are short of well over £1.3M, so unless some investor comes in between now and the end of the season, we had better beat spurs and get chelsea or Manure in the 4th round and take them to a replay. Otherwise we are still in the shit and its no one`s fault except Archer`s.

I too am astounded that anyone is not aware of parlous state of our finances - DK & the board & MM mention it whenever they can.
What do you think A&K is for - line the pockets of the board? new players? Wake-up ffs - $2m is needed to keep Albion GOING.
The response to A&K, whilst initially good, has stalled well short of the target on donations. Lets hope Attilla's 'Tom Hark' storms to number one.
$250,000 is definately a nice little earner & I believe that with a loan player or two we will still have a squad capable of staying up.

I think you've missed the point of my post entirely. I am fully aware (as anyone not in the club can be) of how grim things are at the club. It isn't a case of "Look this is the reality" it is more a case of "Jesus Christ, how bad are things". £250k is a lot of money for a player the wrong side of 30 who we picked up for nothing and could have gone for nothing but the speed of the deal knocked me off my feet. The club knocked back offers - what does that actually mean? Did Joe Royle just keep upping the figure in a two-minute phone conversation?

In the cold light of day, it was a good piece of business and I am as realistic as the next man in that we are losing money ahnd over fist and have to eat shit until we get a new ground. How would we all feel if the club slipped into administration in April? Could this happen? I don't know.

Just because it is the situation we hav been left with by a f***ing **** who I hope dies soon, doesn't mean I have to like it, does it?

I think we will be ok this season but I worry about where the money will come from after that.
