I'm not really that fazed by what the betting markets are indicating. It's a bit like the favourite in a horse race - it doesn't mean it's going to win it just means more money has been placed on it than any other horse in the race. On average a favourite in a horse race wins about 30-35% of the time - not even 50% of the time.

Can the betting market influence voting - who knows ?
I dunno - maybe it makes some folk less inclined to vote, if they think they're going to lose anyway 🤔...self fulfilling

The downside of a democracy, which can't really be changed, is that your age qualifies you to vote and not you your IQ, as demonstrated by those two Trump supporters on twitter!!

Trump has identified a scapegoat in case he loses

  • unprecedented program that's partly aimed at collecting evidence of voter fraud at a time when Republicans have filed scores of lawsuits targeting voting eligibility rules, ballot-processing procedures and other issues.
  • Within the GOP, the program is actually a bigger priority than on-the-ground efforts to reach voters.
Now that says a lot.

Why try to reach voters when you can lose court cases that try and deny the rights of legitimate voters.

Little clips of stupid people are pointless

Show me the ones of Democrats

I think it's worth realising that a lot of Trump supporters have simply fallen for all the lies the Republicans spin. Fixing US democracy requires getting the truth to the electorate.

Can this be extrapolated to suggest that most people that bet haven't a clue what they are doing?

I read that if Kamala wins, Trump will still challenge the result with claims of 'fix' etc. Just like last time.
He's already doing it.

Not helpful

Not helpful at all.

I have no idea what the Democrats are doing letting a senile old man spout forth when he was stood down as their candidate because he has lost the plot. I posted weeks ago (when Harris was given the nomination) that he should be gagged and sent to sit on the beach for the duration. Why, oh why, are they still letting him in front of a microphone? This has really pissed me off.
