One doddery old candidate down, one to go
Very close though. If Trump had been whacked, I think Biden would still be the candidate for their next election.

The democrats just need to pick the right candidate and they can extinguish Trumpism once and for all.

100%, I agree.

Hmm, I believe the pendulum still has a fair ways yet to swing (to both sides).

I can see more extremism, more entrenchment and more nastiness to come out of the USA in the years to come. I think the politicians, parties, mainstream media, social media and the average everyday person has contributed to a long wave of incivility that hasn't been seen in the USA (or west), for a long time, imo.

Mike Johnson of course knows all about invalidating the votes of millions of Americans, given that he took the lead in filing a case to attempt to overturn the result of the last Presidential election: https://apnews.com/article/congress...ertification-8cd7c5a9e6ae69635bbb4624cc78e5c5
Maybe you’re being little disingenuous in your post as to being spearheaded by Johnson. After a quick google search, this is the lawsuit you’re referencing.

Imo there’s no viable Democratic possibility.

No one of any real seriousness would want to step up against Trump at this stage - a week after an assassination attempt, a massively galvanized Republican Party and voters, weeks after the collapse of Biden and to some extent, the Democratic Party since the debate.

Awful polls for Harris over the past 3.5 years. The best chance the Dems had realistically was RFK Jr, but he’s long out, unless they entice him back in.

So it’s an almost guaranteed forfeit by putting Harris out there.
Plead for RFK to join the ranks.
A Hail-Mary play to get Michelle Obama in the game.
To be fair, the RP is only galvanized because they are cowards and scared of Trump. Noone dared to risk their political livelihood to stand up to him. Imo ofc.

Yea totally fair, and I largely agree.

I think the same can be said for potential good and viable Democrat Party nominees - good viable candidates also won’t risk their political livelihoods, imo.

How long do you spend on the net trawling up bollocks like this? I can hear the banjo‘s from here.

can you explain to me why a serial rapist, adulterer and most probably someone who had relationships with children is a good fit as president of the USA? Asking for the adults in the room.

Harris apparently isn't that popular with Joe Public - 40% approval rate. Wonder if the Democrats wouldn't be better off fielding a (younger, without baggage) wildcard?
I agree she’s unpopular but wonder if it’s because she has always kept quiet and stood in the background? Maybe moving to centre stage will help?

When I click on your link I get the notice 'unavailable for legal reasons'.

But there's plenty of other info out there:

Are you claiming he wanted no part in overturning the result?
