rubbish...in wsu we could hardly understand what they were singing down in the north stand. we got snippets of it though so we were just singing on the bits with no words, clpping too. all good.

What a load of self-serving nonsense. It added a bit of theatre and spectacle on Saturday and that's why we go to football. Whether it has legs or not is to be seen, I was surprised it didn't spread further along the North Stand on Saturday - if it doesn't catch on then so be it, but I've a funny feeling we will be hearing quite a bit more of it. Most won't give a hoot who else sings it, or even have the time or inclination to compile a list of songs to avoid as they are sung by rivals. As mentioned elsewhere on threads practically every terrace tune is twisted to suit a particular clubs needs. Go buy the wonderfully named "Dick's Out" for the history of footie songs and you'll see how the art has evolved.

From the WSU I thought it sounded tremendous and hopefully it will get picked up around the ground because it undoubtedly added to the already good atmosphere

Been reading the other thread and commented on there, and after thinking about this song over the weekend I come to the conclusion it's not because it's a palarse,st.Pauli etc song that I don't like it, its just because it's f***ing embarassing !!!
It has no soul and no emotion, it just drones on and on.....................it is a bland chant for the Xbox generation .

But hey..............only time will tell.

I was over the other side of the north stand and like me I think most of us didn't know the words to it.

Yeah, me too - but it wasn't difficult to join in with the clapping & the WOOOOOAAAAAAAWOOOOOAAAAWOOOO type parts.

I thought it sounded great btw. If you don't like it don't join in. You know, just like most people didn't with everything that was chanted at Withdean.

Why are we called the Seagulls again?
Agreed. We ought to drop all this 'seagulls' nonsense as it is a direct rip-off from the Palace 'Eagles' chant, which we all thought was rather good the first time we heard it.

EDIT: I see I'm not the first to mention this!

Its going to be great when we play Crystal Palace....perhaps we could have a sing off.

I was in the WSU and I agree it sounded great, but I couldn't quite get over the fact that we were singing a song made famous (sic) in this country by our fiercest rivals. I'm not against it though, any noise is better than no noise. Not sure if I'll be joining in with this one just yet (it might grow on me though).

Well, if we want to make Palace's version look like a laughing stock (which it is, they have shitty lyrics whilst ours are cracking), why don't the haters stop being moody bastards and join in singing it around the ground? As to my knowledge only the ultras in the Homodale end sing it and it doesn't spread that far? Would sound amazing if we had a medley of all the stands doing it.

This is exactly my take on it
Someone posted the original song on the other thread - listening to it I felt like one of the aliens at the end of Mars Attacks.

Well, therein lies a challenge. A BIG CHALLENGE.

What's obvious is you've got yourselves organised to create a song/chant, and what was done was quite impressive. There is over 60 years of popular music, and over 400 years of classical music to choose from for you to form your own unique repertoire.

So why not go for it? Be one of the 10% and create a brilliant chant / terrace dance routine no-one else has done, and make it our own. I have confidence you can do it.

^^ This.

Brighton is full of creativity, is there any way some of the creative minds in the NSK can try and come up with something they have created that is unique.

The Palace fanatics are very very poor and cheesy faux St Pauli wannabes using many of their songs, there is no originality...... hardly suprising for the thick croydoners to have no orginality.

whilst commendable the NSK did something, is following the same faux St Pauli path the best our massively superior and creative fans can do?

its bring atmosphere to an otherwise quiet stadium. there were only about one hundred people at most singing it, if u are that offended and there are enough people that think like u surely it will be easy to drown them out with other songs. this will produce a win win situation of even more noise!!!:clap::clap::clap::clap:

It's not a palace song.

exactly. its a song sung all over europe and i am sure will begin to spread more and more as it catches on. I might be alone in this but i do love singing a song for 10 minutes straight like we did with the bennett one at brentford!

un-f***ing-believable for years we have put up with jibes about having the worst atmosphere in England and find it incredible that some of our own fans are moaning bout a song cos it sounds like one sung by the pikeys up the road. I am a north stander from goldstone days and will be in north for gills game and can't wait to join in and have a proper atmosphere at the albion again. I guess Murray is gonna get off lightly then as we don't want to be seen copying all those other clubs that slag returning players do we !!!
