I think he has flourished since Poyet came and installed the passing, keep ball, tippy tappy football that we love to play. If he joins a team that just resorts to lumping the ball forward i believe he will fall back into his old, slightly lazy, ways and just look good once every now and then. Do i thank him for this season? yes. Do i wish him luck in the future? absolutely not!

ive never really liked murray, but he has been brilliant this season

big big miss. and ill look forward to throwing a shed load of expletives at him next season, even if i cannot blame him for one minute for leaving for a 25% pay rise. it just smacks of a lack of career ambition, and i only hope he doesnt regret it when we are above palace next season

Not sure if the shy Cumbrian will like life in traffic jammed and polluted Croydon. And if he wanted the bright lights, it's not London (central).

Pay will sweeten the pain, but will he be happy?

Glenn's been my favourite player for the last couple of seasons, since his worldy of a volley against Crewe on his debut. He's had his name donned across the back of my replica shirt on the last couple of home shirts and an away, and now he goes and leaves us for pasteurs new. Gutting, but that's football. You can't get too attached to good players when you're playing in league 1 or 2, you're going to lose them if they're that good and we've been used to that with Zamora and then Leon Knight, in a lesser way. But to get promoted, to have Falmer ready for the next season, to have Poyet as manager and Bloom as chairman, with everything looking stunning in the immediate future, to go and leave us is such a gutter. I don't blame him, he's a grown man with a family to support and he's a Northerner, our rivalry with Palace means nothing at all to him. If they pay him the money, good luck to the man. I'll never have anything against him.

But football being football, I'll be booing him next season given a chance. I mean no malice, I just like the pantomime villain.

Yeah, thanks for the memories Glenn. 2 transfer requests, a few petty sending offs, one season scoring more than 15 goals, booed by all the Albion fans away against Brentford and finshed off with leaving on a free for our arch rivals. Brillant memories xxx

Yeah, the 'more than 15 goals' which we would have ended up in the play offs or even lower without. Just look at our performances against Colchester, Huddersfield and Notts County to see how much of an effect it had when he wasn't playing.

Murray was, and is a top quality striker and he will prove it again next season wherever he ends up. Skill, vision, good aerial ability and notably this season, great in defence when we were under pressure. People who play down his ability are deluding themselves. Don't give me this "unproven in the championship" nonsene, I personally think his game is more suited to it.

Our loss is someone else's gain unfortunately. He will be extremely hard to replace.

Well, clearly Gus does not see things as you do. I think I will trust Gus's opinion of Murray. As he said, he has no intention of replacing Murray on a like for like basis - he obviously wants a striker who has more pace and is less wasteful. Maybe we can get a center half who can defend, and let the strikers get some goals?
