Sorry Richie but i disagree. I DO blame him for going to Palace for a couple of k extra. Anywhere else - annoyed but fair enough. I am a loyal person. In fact, if I was offered a 25% - 30% pay rise to go to our biggest rival company I would never go. I doubt i'd go atall. If it meant moving miles away then no chance i'd go. I know i'm taking the moral high ground a tad there but i'm being honest - I am a loyal person - Murray isn't. Football breads some of these types. Simple.

Mate, he is a northerner (i.e no schoolboy love to Brighton prior to joining). He is a footballer, i.e his career will be over by the time he is 35, they have to think differently from the rest of us. He therefore has to maximise his earnings before he is on the career scrapheap. I don't blame him and thanks for the memories but I hope he gets crocked in his first game for Palace and barely plays for them again during his 3 year contract (or whatever he has signed) this would not surprise me at all now he has his big pay cheque and finally from me thanks for all the goals he has scored this season to help get us up.

I believe Gus will get someone better to fill his boots, good as Glenn was this season, Bobby Zamora he is not and there are better out there...ooh the Sharks are playing again better get the radio on.

Not getting in an argument with you, don't have the time , but if you'd honestly not move for a 25% pay rise then you're certainly in a minority, and fair play for that. Murray has no real connections to the club, he always seems to be out of the celebrations and so on, and certainly doesn't have the same affection as us fans do for the Albion. In terms of his life, yeah, he may recieve a few dodgy emails and dirty looks, a bit of abuse twice a season, but i'd say for another 100k a year in a short term career that's worthwhile.
As I said, I think i'm talking for the majority, that if i was offered a 25% to move firms without the need to move house, i'd happily take it. Football's different for fans, but for most players its just a job, and it's the money that matters.

I'm even finding myself agreeing with you too :lolol:

Yeah, thanks for the memories Glenn. 2 transfer requests, a few petty sending offs, one season scoring more than 15 goals, booed by all the Albion fans away against Brentford and finshed off with leaving on a free for our arch rivals. Brillant memories xxx

If only our medical team had diagnosed his double hernia first time it could have been so different

Good striker, good defender, complex character. As for Brentford, shows what fickle fuckers follow football. Not ALL booed him there either, only the cockjugglers.

So Glenn is going. I am gutted. Miffed beyond belief.

But I don't think you can blame him. If he ends up getting a couple of grand a week more somewhere else (even if it is Palace) then, over a three year deal that is more than £300,000. Big money for a lower league footballer.

I am confident Gus et al will replace him on the pitch and yes, I will call him all the names under the sun when he comes to play us.

But lets not kid ourselves. He has been bloody MINT for us and were it not for injuries would have hit more than 20 goals a season before this year.

Some of his goals have been breathtaking. Other performances (like Wycombe away, Southampton when we won 3v1) have been unplayable.

A swaggering, skillful striker who we are much the poorer to be without.

Right now I hate him. But he has given us more good times and memories than most over the last few years of struggle.

Top post, very well put and completely agree with everything you said

There's no doubt about it, he will be a massive loss, as he was one of our best players, but i do have faith that we will get a suitable replacement.
He has been fantastic for us, and as you said, if it wasn't for injuries, would have probably scored 20+ goals every season. However, if he does go to Palace, much of this would be forgotten unfortunately. I would have no problem with him going to someone like Forest, as that is obviously a step in the right direction for him, but Palace, really?! He would get the abuse he deserves if he goes there. Goodbye Glenn :bigwave:

I didn't actually count how many booed but it certanly sounded like alot. More than just the cockjugglers (wherever they sit)

ps must of missed the games when he was playing in defence and never actually got to know the guy enough to have an opinion on his character so I guess your opinion is better than mine!

No offence but that is ridiculous. If someone was willing to pay me a lot more money for doing the same thing I would be off like a shot in much the same way as if the company no longer wanted me they would have no problem in moving me along. I very much doubt Murray gives two hoots that it is Palace he joining and has seen the money and said I'll have that- football rivalries are for fans players don't care.

No offence taken lads - i know i'm prob in a minority. I had no connections to the company I work for until 5yrs ago and now I personally feel i do and I care a lot and want to reward the faith people have put in me to be able to support my family etc. Sure i've thought of leavibig before etc but I wouldn't to a direct competitor. I agree obviously no situation is the same and you guys may work for biggercompanies than i do. I wouldn't blame Murray for moving to better his career - say Leeds or Norwich or a prem team - but my point in that post was Palace are our massive rivals. That's all.

Farewell Glenn and good luck, you wound every one up for quite some time but you finally came good.

Unless of course you go to palace, in which case you deserve EVERYTHING that is coming to you.

The Bosman ruling hasn't helped either.

I can blame him! Unless he signs for a bigger club than us with with a great manager then he's an idiot. He's twisted when he shoud have stuck IMHO.

A job is not just about money and the path to success is not just about grabbing the short-term gain. He's a central figure at a club with huge momentum on and off the pitch and with one of the country's most promising and inspiring young managers - one who has single-handedly revolutionised how you play successful lower league football. And he's going to what? Palace? Southampton?

Seriously, I think he's made a boneheaded decision. I wish him the the best of luck, because he'll need it, he's taken a big old gamble.

This sums up exactly how I feel about it all.

Well said. I agree. Even Norwich would have been fine. Someone who's maybe 2 or 3 yrs ahead of where we want to be. Even Leeds dare I say it.

To be fair, It wouldn't be so frustrating if he signed for Forest, Leeds, Cardiff, Doncaster, Stains, Pompey, Burnley, Millwall, Leicester, Hull, Barnsley, Boro, Ipswich, Watford, Bristol City, Coventry or Derby! But no, he chooses the scum

He has gone. Get over it!

We now have a striker who got 20 in a relegated team, actually scores from the spot - and most importantly - wants to play for us!
