I'm in a minority of one in liking VAR (subject to several changes needed a.s.a.p.).

Muzza's equaliser is just the sort of goal that incompetent homer's would've disallowed, completely guessing but never admitting to that. Thank God for VAR in this instance.

But why did it take so long to confirm the fairly obvious?

*cough* two *cough*

The slowness and the annoying hair splitting decisions are due to a combination of stupid badly-drafted rules, and shitehouse officials. VAR should tell the ref what decision to make in 30 seconds, and if unable to do so, leave it to the whim of the ref. I said this previously.

I won't drone on about what rules need changing, but clear blue daylight 'feels' so much better than 'was his arse offside?' Don't forget. Murray can score with his cock, and anyone could save a goal using their perineum, if correctly deployed....

Can’t find the big thread to bounce but we would probably have lost that game yesterday without VAR. Any anti’s out there softening?

Great principle – awful implementation. Decisions take too long, there's no communication with anyone inside the ground and the whole 'clear and obvious' thing is very much open to interpretation.

As I've said before, the PL should've tested it properly – and looked more closely at how other leagues and sports do it – before rolling it out to a huge global market.

Of three, and ditto re changes too.
I didn't think it took too long to confirm it. Perhaps it might be because the technology isn't that good -- improving it ought to speed up the review process (as will changing how it's used).
