probably the right decision as Anton Ferdinand didn't even hear it - total waste of time and money

Fine. But the FA need to do something about how the players conduct themselves on the pitch. They are role models and kids look up to them and want to be like them. Imagine if your kid wanted to be like JT. Shocking.

Anton never heard it? I thought JT's defence turned around and said Anton said something regarding skin colour (quoth ali G: is it coz i iz black?) and JT repeated it

Just to echo everyone else, what a complete and utter shambles. Why on earth did this go to court? Maximum punishment was £2,500. Which Terry undoubtedly had on him anyway, seriously, what was the point?

Our legal system is such a mess, it's just depressing.

This. How on earth did this get to court when no one - including the person it was supposedly directed at - actually heard what was said.

Nice bit of case law though

If you ever get accused of similar, just argue you were repeating what you *think* the other party said...

Not guilty on a 'John Terry'

So, let me get this right.... it was actually Anton Ferdinand calling John Terry a "B***k c**t" then? And he was "sarcastically" repeating it back......righto..

whatever you think of JT or even of Capello as a manager, this vindicates Capello for wanting to keep his "innocent until proven guilty" captain, and for walking away when the FA pandered to media attention.

Meh. At least it got rid of Capello.

Why would any parent accept any celebrity as a role model for their children ??

Maybe they do impact on the behaviour of young players, but not beyond the football field, surely.

I dont know what Terry's like, but he just happens to be a pretty good centre half, but no role model.
