Times are hard AND you've had a gambling habit in the past which is NOW under control....but you just happen to have £5k knocking around?
Hmmmm....

Right, redundancy payout

Hardly lying.. its 5k not as if im a millionaire crack dealer... btw having 5k in the bank does not mean times cant be hard... I cant get a new mortgage and am in neg equity so wtf is 5k gonna do to help me.... add another zero on the end and your talking

Well i wont bet the lot but still tempting...

Great story a few years back about a guy who sold everything he had, house, car, belongings for 75 grand. Moved in with his parents. Then got the media involved and told them he was putting it all on red or black at the casino (think he went for red). They filmed it and he won! Got to have some balls to do that you really have.

I saw this... was good watching actually... Huge balls but i did feel he prob would have got something for the filming of the program anyway..

Redundancy... so yea times still hard...

Fair play. Too risky for me, this one.

Also, should Chelsea win, I think it's dangerous to have the attitude of "ARGRHGRHRG I could've won XXXX" - because inevitably that will make you bet next time. And one time soon you WILL lose.

That also crossed my mind.. if i did win... then id think wow made a quick 7k and start looking at the next game...

I wont do this... it was a stupid thought... If i lost id be sick as a parrott and more...

Times are hard and i could do with a cash injection.. I have saved 5k up over the last few years...

Chelsea are 7/5 to win... 7 k profit... This is sooo tempting... Ive never bet more than about £50 on one match but feel confident of this win... I know i wont hav ethe balls to bet it... but fancy staking a cpl of 100 on the chelsea win.

People are talking me out of it and said join a new only gambling site for £250 get the 100% bonus and bet on 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, and 3-1 chelsea at 18's and 20's to one...

Anyone know a decent welcome bonus?

Don't do it.

Jesus good memory... but i really feel strongly for a chelsea win... I know i wont have the balls as i said... however the fact that the thought came across my mind...

My mates talked me out of it... but said we can sign up to a betting site online with £100 each...

However if chelsea do win id have just missed the chance to win 7k which would take me years to save...

The usual rules apply - only bet what you can afford to lose. In a two horse race - especially one where Liverpool have a good record - you would have been absolutely barmy to do it, and I'd have no sympathy if you lost the lot.

Every time I've had a big bet I've not once felt the need to come and post about it on here.

But then given the millions of "I've just bought a season ticket" threads that are on here I guess it appears to be the done thing when someone spends more that a fiver.

I'm off to the pub for lunch, I'll start a thread about what I bought when I get back

Do not do this !

Gambling is only going to change your life if you gamble like this by taking your savings then your home etc etc

You know the rules... Only bet an amount that you can genuinely afford to lose!

You do recall the Liverpool v Milan Euro final I take it?

Be very careful would be my advice to you.

Oh ok. Have to admit I also thought it was a thread letting everyone know about your 5k under the smokescreen of a bet that you were never really going to put on anyway.

7/5 is a waste of time. It's all set up for Torres to score the winner against his old employers, so lump the lot on him being Last Goalscorer at 7/1, and win yourself £35k.

Note: really, really, really don't do this :lolol:

I'm sure you said you were in control of your gambling not too long ago?!

You clearly and evidently are NOT in control of your gambling to even consider this.

If you don't bet, you do NOT LOSE anything, no matter the result. If you bet and lose (which is very likely in a footy final - your "feeling strongly" is completely irrelevant), can you live with that?

There's THREE scenarios here, only ONE of them ends up with you having more money in your pocket.

But hey, put the bet on if you're feeling idiotic enough, no skin off our noses.
