Queens Park Strangers is the one and only answer imho. Consistently the best kits in all 67 leagues of English football; you can't argue with horizontal blue and white stripes with red piping, (unless we're talking Reading FC).

Having spent two weekends around Middlesbrough this year, I'd point out that the countryside around there is spectacular. It's possibly the best ground in the country for a walking weekend

Millwall. My favourite away game by a mile! Personal favourites include ‘how much does the fat kid weigh’ ‘who’s the slapper in the black’ and ‘1-0 to the batty boys’ when we went ahead (they actually started fighting each other that day)

In 1998, Bolton Barnsley and Crystal Palace (snigger) all went straight back down.

Ah, fair enough. I haven't had much interaction with Bristol City fans, other than the playoff final.
I spent a year living right next to The Mem and went to a couple of Rovers games. They always seemed like a good bunch.

I was in The Gas end for their play off final at Wembley a few years back…. They had 42k there…. All auditioning for village idiot roles.

What's the story behind this eclectic set?.

FC United: my eldest brother is Mancunian born and bred and was a founding member. I’ve been several times and it’s “a good day out”

Clydebank: My mother was born there and lived through the blitz of March ‘41. Subsequently they’re my second team.

Guernsey: an incredibly memorable away day with Peacehaven and the fact they played a competitive match overseas before the Albion did!

Not unpopular with me: my in-laws' club so plenty of opportunity for family banter

This is the best Millwall group of players since the Neil Harris Richard Sadlier Stevie Reid and Timmy Cahill days at Millwall. Not PL standard players this lot but the gel well together. The last couple of times that the flirted with the play offs they were piss poor. This lot have good cohesion. Goalkeeper is a problem though. A decent run without injuries and a good January transfer window and they will be up there. Especially if they don't lose anyone in January

I can't understand how Preston have never graced the top division since 1961. Huge history, they have spent the last two decades watching a certain other team down the road fail to grace the Premier League on multiple occasions. Even Blackpool had a go all be it predictably briefly.

Ditto. In the outside bars near Cardiff train station post match in the sunshine, I spotted some 50 year old bad losers moving to attack unaware Albion families from behind.

Unbelievable response from some of their fans as I was going back to the hotel with my kids. Walked past the pub where they had been gathered an hour later and they had clearly been moved on.

Looking at the championship table i'm quite excited by the prospect of an away day to Sunderland next season, if they can get up. Proper club (IMHO), huge stadium and loud fans are all reasons i'd like to see them go up. Would love someone like Plymouth to go up. I've always had a great time when I've been to watch football there and visit.

So, who'd you like to see promoted and why?

Teams that have earned and deserve it, not clubs defined by ancient history and big grounds.

No - the three promoted teams ion 2022-23 all came straight back down, but the three promoted teams 2021-22 all stayed up. Fulham, Bournemouth, Notts Forest. (Leicester, Leeds & Southampton went down in 2022-23.)
