I actually think El-Abd has been the only decent defender in the last couple of games so I don't see him being dropped. So maybe he should play in the middle:

Kuipers

RB: Hoyte
CB: Tunnicliffe
CB: El Abd
LB: Wright/McNulty

RM: Bennett
CM: Dicker
CM: Crofts
LM: Cox

CF: Forster
CF: Murray

Same as mine above. Therefore, correct. El Abd has done nothing to be dropped in the last couple of games, compared to Virgo and Elphick. El Abd's lack of pace is less of a problem at centre back, a position he is more naturally suited to anyway.

I don't think constantly changing the central pair will help, that is the position where it is most important to have consistency and understanding, and I would say that though they haven't been totally free from fault I think Elphick and Tunnicliffe haven't done too badly in the last few games. Our fullbacks have been substandard and Smith has chucked a few in. I think we should stick with those two at least until January and then see how the land lies.

The fact they have Jonjo Shelvey means Virgo, Elphick or Navarro should not be anywhere near the starting eleven. Therefore:
Kuipers

Hoyte
El-Abd
Tunnicliffe
Mcnulty

Davies (A)
Crofts
Thornhill
Bennett

Forster Murray

No Dicker? Are you literally the most INSANE MANIAC the world has ever produced?

This is the POSSIBLE line up put on the Brighton website and they normally get it right... Sadly this is it:
Smith (Kuipers); Hoyte, Virgo, Elphick, El-Abd; Bennett, Crofts, Dicker, McLeod; Forster, Murray.
As you can see they have changed Dickinson For Murray so they must have some info however surely he cannot play Mcleod, Virgo and Elphick after there shoddy performance on Saturday.

Dicker Would be in my team for every game apart from this. We need a more direct attacking midfielder like Thornhill so when they put 4 past us we put 5. I wouldn't really want to drop either of the central pair however Dicker coasts around doing the job that goes unnoticed which is fair enough, however Crofts can do that, is better a tackling and is the captain.

Thornhill playing a high tempo game with Crofts in the midfield could be the difference and with Bennett's pace and Forster and murray's finishing ability we could definitely score goals.

I understand your thinking however Thornhill has NEVER done this for us, so I think it's too big a risk chucking him in for his first game in ages and expecting him to do the business when we know Dicker can and most probably will.

I don't think it's that unnoticed. The difference to our game when he came on against Rushden was immediate and very noticeable. He always makes himself available for the pass, controls our tempo and our transition from defence to attack becomes much more classy and actually productive.

Crofts meanwhile is best in the Lampard spot just ahead of him, IMO.

Kuipers (Smith)

Hoyte-Tunnicliffe-Wright-El-Abd

Bennett- Dicker- Crofts - Cox

Murray - Forster

Or

Kuipers (Smith)

Hoyte - Tunnicliffe - Wright - El-Abd

-----------Navarro-------------------
------Dicker--Crofts
Benett--------------------------Cox

-----------Murray---------------------

Bit harsh on Forster and Dickinson but got to stop letting goals in and Navarro snapping around would hopefully help.

They don't usually get it right mate they have no clue or inside info what so-ever otherwise the opposition would know the team

I must admit to being slightly confused here.

I, presumably like most people, believed Hoyte to be a full back (albeit not much of one, if you take the last game as evidence). Yet in the R&D programme, he quite clearly states he considers himself to be a centre half, and has played at centre half for most of his career.

Why then, are we not giving him a chance in the middle at the back? Our centre halves, particularly Elphick and Virgo, have been horrendous for most of the season, and while Tunnicliffe hasn't always set the world on fire, I still can't work out why he's the one who gets dropped every time.

Why not play Tunnicliffe and Hoyte at centre half- they can't do any worse than the other combinations have done, and then (ideally, assuming a full squad) have McNulty and Whing, Wright or El Abd as the full backs? If we're going to sign a player on loan, we might as well give him the best chance to show what he can do, and to be honest, Hoyte has not impressed so far at full back, so what's to lose?

Wright also produced an excellent performance against Borient and hasnt had the chance to prove himself yet, tunni/wright?

dicko is on 4 yellow cards too though so can we risk losing him for the next game then again some on here would say it wouldnt make a differnce if he were on the pitch or not though.

I very much doubt Dickinson will go until march without picking up another yellow. If he's scoring, if he has the momentum, play him against Charlton, if he picks up a yellow we lose him for a game against a "lesser" opponent. To get something against a top side we have to use all our options, and not hold back or fear he might be suspended against Exeter.

Of course, this ignores the argument of if you think he's good enough to play.

What would make a big difference is if we could get a left back to play at left back and then allow Adam El Abd to play just infront of the back four to break their attacks up. Thus relieving the pressure on the central defenders and Smith. We will then have to worry about getting the ball forward to the strikers.

To those who picked A Davies and Thornhill , they have both returned to Forest . Apparently Gus wanted to see what contracted players he had before loanees.so they were not getting a look in. so we have what we have until transfer window opens.

Another vote for BatterSeagull's lineup here.

It won't happen because Livermore hasn't had a look in and is unlikely to start tomorrow, but I reckon that line up would give them Addicks a game.
