Hammond should be in, no question. He is the single most under-rated player [amongst our own fans] we have had in 20 years.

Would also rather see Butters at east on th bench, if not starting.

Swap O'Callaghan for Hammond, and Savage for Revell and you've got the side which will start (IMO) on Saturday.

I am a huge fan of Hammond, but think he could do with a rest. I am pretty certain that he has played in every game this season. We saw what happened after his season finished at Huddersfield and we nosedived towards the relegation zone. Perhaps it is not the best game to rest him, as we will want to bounce back from the Forest defeat. I am more worried about a burnout/injury and losing O'Callaghan in Janurary would leave us extremely short on options.

talking to a few of the players last night, I get the impression that the team almost picks itself at the moment as injuries are not an issue.

Personally I would play Forster and Revell with bas and Robbo coming on for the last 20 for a midfielder and revell until he gets 100% match fit.

I fail to see why everybody clamours for Revell as I do not rate him at all, even less than I do Savage.

I think that we are very poor in support for Forster and desperately need to bring somebody in during January.

My team would be:

Kuipers
Whing
El Abd
Lynch
Richards

Reid
O'Callaghan
Hammond
Cox

Forster
Savage

Subs:
O Sullivan
Butters
Rents/ Fraser
Robinson
Elder.

I'm still not convinced by Baz.

He's tall - and I can see the advantages of that, but he's not that good in the air. He doesn't beat players on the deck very often. He's definitely not quick over the ground. However, everyone else seems to think he's the dogs.

If he's fit, I'd have Revell in there.

.

I have been saying for ages that he is 6ft 2 instanding up but 6ft1in from the ground when he jumps. The ball just hits his head and he has no idea where it is going. Having said that I would sooner him than Revell who has nothing good going for him, his heading is poor his first touch is bad and all he can do is run.

And what does Revell offer? I don't think Bas is that bad in the air - he doesn't seem to win many of the aimless punts from the back, Revell is better at that, but we shouldn't be doing that anyway. On crosses Bas' knock downs are usually very good.

I think he is more of a goal threat (both scoring and creating) than Revell.

if you want a headless chicken running around up-front who works hard but not a lot else then go for revell

if you want a headless chicken running around up front who can have one moment in the game when he suddenly creates something then go for savage

He dances a mean boogie in a dodgem - him and Nathan were just burning up the bitches in the fairground.

Behave yourself, Scotty. :glare:

just pointing out that BAS should be starting - simply as he has those bizare moments. hartlepool and cheltenham being key examples

His best contributions, for instance Southend, and to take your own example, Hartlepool, have been from the bench.

true - but by the same token forsters best contributions have been with bas alongside him - southend, and obviously his little golden patch lately

while forster does look fitter now, i dont think its any coincidence that he looks a better player alongside savage, who can make things happen. and lets face it, neither him nor revell are 20 goal a season men, so surely it makes sense to play the one who brings the best out of the man who can be the goal scorer?
