I want to see us start with two proper strikers.

Sussex but not by the sea
---------------Ryan
Montoya Duffy Dunk Burn
Propper Bissouma Mooy
------Gross MacAllister
-----------Maupay

Need to get back to controlling possession more, so picked our best fit passers in each position. Tough to drop Lamptey and Connolly, but in the new world of 5 subs, they would both get on, as will Trossard

Duffy is a liability in possession, it’s the weakest part of his game and why he lost his place to Webster.

Doubt it. Very few teams start with two "proper" strikers against weaker teams these days.

The upside to having two strikers is that you can beat a stronger or equal team with it, since even if you have a defensive minded midfield or you are getting pressured, theres ALWAYS a chance that your two strikers could combine and score a goal.

Against weaker opponents, playing two strikers generally means too many disadvantages: more difficult to keep or win back possession if you have two players "locked" in the box and your midfield needs to be more careful as you dont have the extra player to cover spaces if i.e. your right winger and right back are attacking together or if a CM sees an opportunity to make a dirty Lampardian run (maybe dont matter much though as every Brighton midfielder get a panic attack anywhere near the opponent penalty area).

I think Maupay will start with Trossard on the left and Gross on the right. If a goal is needed in the last half hour or so I could see a swap to two strikers (Murray if dominating, Connolly if the game is more even).

This will be what he goes with.
I'd personally stick with Mac Allister but I think he'll rotate and use Gross.

I would put all names in a hat and pick 11 out, just like Potter did last night.

I would do this but accidentally drop the ball with Stephens name on it down the toilet

His lumbering effort to catch young athletes for the first goal the other night is enough surely

I've never been convinced 1000% by Montoya, and I still think Bernardo has a shout over BDB for left back. . . .. but Gross and MacAllister behind/wide of Maupay looks good to me, especially with P B M behind.

Gotta go for it here. AJ won't play but I'd love him to, thought he was playing really well before the break and still desparately want him to succeed.

Norwich know they are down and apart from early on will attack. Most side recently sides know this and after soaking up pressure have scored by counter attacking. We will have to do the same.

One of the many strange things about this season is we still don’t know our best starting 11. But one thing I do know is that we look a much better side with two up front and when we take the game to the opposition.

Ryan
Lamptey
Webster
Dunk
Burn
Propper
Bissouma
Mooy
MacAllister
Maupay
Connolly

We’re not going to have a “this is our best go to 11” under Potter. This is not Hughton football. It’s just not he plays.

His philosophy requires us having multiple line ups, formations and systems. Switching mid game even, and opposition dependent.

(Think of the difference in style when we pay Spanish style with 70% possession, compared to our counter attack set up versus Arsenal)

We need to be on the front foot from the off, pressure them into mistakes and take our chances!
