i do realise lynch is a centre back iv watched enough of the reserves and youth team to realise that have to agree reidy did have a very good day at selhurst park and given a straight choice between reidy and kerry pick reid everytime but feel if we are making changes at the back i'd rather see hinch bought back presuming he's fit ( if he's fit enough to be on the bench then surely he's fit enough to be in the team ? ) and although el abd has been doing very well defensively where ever he's played (distribution has been very poor) feel he'd quite easily slip in at left back where he's played just a well as on the rightLondon Irish said:True, but actually Lynch is a centre-back, and I'm not knocking the young lad, it's shown at times in his support for the midfield.
We have to make smart gambles now - and that means including one of the most naturally gifted players in our squad, Paul Reid, in the team.
We're arguing over the merits of two right-sided players El Abd and Reid at LB, I say El Abd has hit a good run of form at RB so leave him there. Whoever you put at LB is not going to be perfect but Reid as the ultimate utility player I think is the best bet.
Yes, Reid has been caught out at LB, but so has he at RB (think back to the Norwich game), so it's much of a muchness.
On the other hand, at Selhurst Park he put in the best performance by an Albion leftback this season with superb distribution to our midfield that kept Palace on the run for virtually the entire game.
