True, but actually Lynch is a centre-back, and I'm not knocking the young lad, it's shown at times in his support for the midfield.

We have to make smart gambles now - and that means including one of the most naturally gifted players in our squad, Paul Reid, in the team.

We're arguing over the merits of two right-sided players El Abd and Reid at LB, I say El Abd has hit a good run of form at RB so leave him there. Whoever you put at LB is not going to be perfect but Reid as the ultimate utility player I think is the best bet.

Yes, Reid has been caught out at LB, but so has he at RB (think back to the Norwich game), so it's much of a muchness.

On the other hand, at Selhurst Park he put in the best performance by an Albion leftback this season with superb distribution to our midfield that kept Palace on the run for virtually the entire game.
i do realise lynch is a centre back iv watched enough of the reserves and youth team to realise that have to agree reidy did have a very good day at selhurst park and given a straight choice between reidy and kerry pick reid everytime but feel if we are making changes at the back i'd rather see hinch bought back presuming he's fit ( if he's fit enough to be on the bench then surely he's fit enough to be in the team ? ) and although el abd has been doing very well defensively where ever he's played (distribution has been very poor) feel he'd quite easily slip in at left back where he's played just a well as on the right

Why are quite a few here putting Frutos on the bench - deserves to start

I disagree, he's been very poor recently and the team are carrying him at present. I'm quite pleased others have noted this.

I agree. I think that Frutos has been one of our best players since signing and if we had a target man to get on the end of his crosses, he would look even better.

I rate Fruity, but would like to see Hammond there as defensively he struggles

If we had a decent proper left back he would be my first choice, but worry he cannot seem to tackle

Sounds like Carole could be out injured according to the Argus. :nono:

On Frutos, the reasons for dropping him are twofold. Although he is a very good player he has not been at his best lately, and playing the two wingers leaves us exposed defensively. If Carole is out he should start though.

Gatting to start. Blimey!

Can't believe there are still a couple of hundred tickets left.

I would get another defensive mid in to shore up the midfield, and get Hammond out wide, as he seems to get a few goals there. This would also protect Reid better than Frutos does.

Frutos would then be the supersub.

How can you play Henrson in right midfield,. We need goals now. I'd prefer to see Kuipers up front with Hendo, and Robinson and Fruity at the centre of defence.

What is MM doing. Gatting and OGH up front. Dear god its like a doctor trying different band aids on a broken leg. He thinks its the bleeding that is the problem so keeps trying different plasters but hasn't addressed the broken leg.
