She's from a very wealthy family of bankers going back generations, which in some ways makes her work ethic even more impressive, when she could have just slummed it as a 'little rich girl' trust fund baby. Am surprised she doesn't have something in place to try to prevent ticket resales at obscene prices as she obviously cares about her fans.

Face value was $49 to $499 in the US. I‘m guessing the crazy US prices seen in the press are from secondary market sites.

She is a very average pop singer so not for me. That said I thought the same of Robbie Williams until I was dragged along to one of his concerts years ago by the then Mrs WS and a couple of friends and he was great. It was helped that he regularly yelled at the audience "Get your tits out for me" and many women of many ages obliged

I think there are certain artists who, even if they are not your cup of tea, put on a great show. Like you, I begrudgingly went to see Robbie with Olly Murs at Wembley with Mrs P & daughter, and despite myself, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ditto James Blunt at The Albert Hall recently. That one got me serious brownie points with Mrs P

A huge number of people, myself included, rate her songwriting highly. All taste is subjective and no one will convince someone to like something or convincingly explain why something is "good". (I don't like a lot of modern art or understand how it's "good" however much someone tries to explain it to me.)

The difference is night and day between say, 1989 and anything even at the more "refined" and produced end of bland pop (Katy Perry or Dua Lipa maybe) let alone the majority of it. If people can't hear that and dismiss it that's very much on their inability to differentiate the quality and difference, and not on the creator being "bland". Same as my inability to see equivalent artistic merit in a Rembrandt portrait and a slashed canvas that sells for millions is on me not Lucio Fontana. Different strokes for different folks.

Give some of her albums a listen and see if you like it, or “get it”. Taste is a very personal thing after all. I think if you have to explain it, then maybe she’s not for you. That said, the joy of music is that If you don’t like her there is loads of other stuff waiting for you.

We met several Americans and Canadians in Edinburgh who’d said it was cheaper for them to come to Edinburgh to see her than buy from the resale market in North America where tickets were in the region of $2K each. The resale business in America would appear to eclipse what we see going on here.

Wife signed up for the lottery thing they did last year and somehow was only allocated the opportunity to buy tickets in Lisbon. She managed to get some and took our youngest last month. The feedback was that TS is amazing live - coming from my wife that is something as she has seen a lot of the big acts in last 15/20 years including Rihanna, Drake, Adele, Beyonce etc.

She is seriously considering going again via the resale thing that ticketmaster are doing. Absolutely not for me - I took the eldest to Prague last year for her 16th to see the Weeknd and that was about as pop as I can handle! (very good show though!)

Rolling Stone Magazine has ranked 270+ of her songs in order of brilliance. If you read the descriptions, many of them could be referring to a poem or a story. It’s about lyrics, the stories and the show. Some people get it, others don’t.

My bro is taking his wife to Wembley today for the big show. He’s really looking forward to it and says that Taylor Swift is the only music the whole family likes. We were watching Scott Ian live last week playing thrash! It takes all sorts!

My daughter went last night, I think she’s seen Miss Swift 3-4 times before, said it was the best ever.

She has a dilemma now, she has a ticket in August, but it’s a standing ticket and she will be very pregnant by then. I think her husband has persuaded her to sell it, it’s not worth the risk of standing for about 6 hours in August heat in a very crowded, excited throng.

Hypercritical with lots of things including the private jet. I know she’s dined out on writing songs about ex’s but I also feel bad for the last posh lad. Went to Edinburgh to see her 2 weekends ago, it was outstanding and certainly not middle of the road music. Quite simply the most astonishing concert I’ve been to, and I’ve been to several hundred. Everything about it exceeded the hype surrounding this tour.

We loved it so much we’re off to Vienna in August for another go.

We gave Wembley a swerve simply because it’s a shithole, in a shithole. Edinburgh was just spectacular all weekend, and Vienna isn’t a bad place to be either.

Oh, and with the majority of the crowd being under 18, there were pretty much zero queues for the bar.

I went to Anfield on the second night and totally agree, it was outstanding and without doubt one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to. Maybe THE best, but difficult to compare as it’s a different genre to the gigs to the hundreds of gigs I’ve also been to over the years. Someone said she can’t dance. That’s not what she’s about. It’s a performance and she acts out the songs and connects with the audience. I don’t want her dancing around like Beyoncé.

I loved it and wish I could do it all again.
