Gutted if this happens. Watched Tariq at Villa Park just before Christmas. Best player on the pitch that day and a superb goal. Terrific pro.. only let down by the injuries.
Who will ever forget the Marseille away performance as well.

In addition. the '...star man.." chant loss would be a blow to an already underwhelmingly un-creative BHA chant back-catalogue. Shame.
Think his best performance was Newcastle away before his injury. Incredible that day

I can't imagine that if we turned down the offer and made Tariq stay until the summer (then letting him go on a free) it would cause him a problem. He can then go with our best wishes and probably get a better deal for himself. That would look the sensible option to me

If true there must be someone coming in. That would mean our only fit fullbacks are Veltman (who's had injuries this season) and Hinshelwood (who's not really a fullback, but has done well there, and is only just back from injury). Come summer our fullback options could then be Pervis, Kadioglu, Veltman, and Hinsh, which is okay, but leaves us very short now with some out injured. Must be someone coming in? I hope!

Perhaps the thinking is if he leaves on a free at the end of the season when he's out of contract then the opportunity would be lost to negotiate a sell on fee.

So in actual financial terms we would be losing potentially more than a mere £1.5m by keeping him until his contract runs out.

And we have no control in making sure he does not go to a rival (see Murray to Palace).

Same here. Was the point saver. What he lacks defensively he makes up in effort and wing play with the odd cracking goal here and there.

If this means he's out the squad tomorrow then it's insane.
£1.5m we would be better keeping him for the next 15 games and letting him go for free.
Was he going to play for free for those last 15 games?

It's not £1.5m, it's £1.5m + half a year of wages.

Just what we need, less attacking fullbacks!

Maybe this will provide the opportunity needed for Barco, or is he too exciting for our current set up?
