Tank saying on SCR this morning that at 37 he's enjoyed playing the last few months more than ever and hopes to get a renewed contract for at least one more season. Hope he gets it as he's done fantastic for us this season but at this age every season is a bigger struggle to maintain the same level of fitness. And will Race continue to post on this board beyond normal service as she's undoubtedly found so many lifelong friends here? :)

Abort, retry, fail
He has never been about pace and I can't see how he his play would decline between now and the start of next season. We are not blessed with a great deal of experience and he has bags of that. A model pro who made a huge impact on our defence when he returned from injury.

If it was up to me, he would be the first out of contract player to get a new deal.

Agree, though Revell and Bertain would get a contract marginally before him. Butters has done bloody well this season and would be more than happy for him to have another year.

What BoF said.

It'd be very sad for everyone if we missed out on his services for another year. Sign him up Deano! It must be done.

Butters is opening a KFC take away at the Withers after his playing days are over, so you will continue to see him at our favourite stadia ...

Good league 1 defender....has to be part of the team next season.....If we had gone up i'd be saying something different like offer him a player/coach role.....But I reckon he will end up back at gillingham in some capacity

It says something about Dean Wilkins' management that Tank has so enjoyed the past few months. His return has been immense too, no more than recently.

He's got another season with BHA, at least, if he puts his mind to it.
I remember Graham Cross, who we got from Leicester in the mid-1970's - he was at the end of his career, but although somewhat 'less fast' than some, he was economical and experienced - and was vital to our successes back then.

If Tank still has it in him to make forays into the attack, he's easily got another season for us. Dean can simply have him stay back more if he shows signs of lowered stamina.
