Tactics for Cardiff?

I can't believe we will play the same way as we have in the semis - but the Iwelumo/Knight partnership is starting to worry me - we just don't look anywhere near scoring.

I think the principle of big man - little striker is fine in principle - but Iwelumo doesn't have anywhere near the ball skills of Benjamin - say....

So - tactics for Cardiff? Team for Cardiff?

Harty MUST play IMHO (Reid on the bench). What about Piercy?

Up and at 'em. Hart to play from the start, use the wings so Jonah and Harty can put crosses in.

Agree with you about leon and big Chris. Iwelumo was getting a fair few flick ons and knock downs but Knight was too far away from him to benefit.

Hart has to be in the start up offered more than ried maybe even start him with Knight he made such a diffrence it was unreal.

Piercy wanted last knight he really wants to stay but then jones played ok caused Swindon a few problems.

But ried need to play better the player who really stood out to be inafective.

but i cant see MM changing tactics hit them on the break defend deep it stopped Bristol last time not pretty but who gives a f***

We HAVE to change the tactics. At the risk of sounding like Andy King, I don't think we really "won" the game last night.

We didn't, we lost 2 - 1.

Hart has to start on the right hand side, on a nice big pitch he will be even more effective running at players.

Piercy must be in contention also, but it think will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Id give him another deal as well. Just for that Pen and Celebration

My team for the final would be:

roberts
mayo
cullip
butters
virgo
jones
reid
carpenter
hart
knight
iwelumo

Cant afford for harding to make a silly mistake in the final and oatway just doesnt cut it.

Reid on the bench???? Are you mad? He's been one of the best players of late. Put Oatway on the bench, he's done bugger all for the last couple of games, and Knight!

Reid has not done enough to justify even a place on the bench. I would opt for.

Roberts
Virgo
Butters
Cullip
Harding
Hart
Carpenter
Oatway
Jones
Knight
Iwelumo

Subs: Kuipers, Piercy, Hinshelwood, McPhee, Mayo.

Agree in the above but Knight has a lot to prove after yet another poor display. The team looked a lot better when he went off last night

yep close to the team althought harding has better distrbution than Mayo he really is off his best at the moment the trouble is we are weak in that area.

Oataway well i think this could be his last season in the first team he really looked poor

Three player worried me both last night and Sunday, and no doubt I will get flamed for it but here goes IMHO, Harding was a total liability and his distribution was zero, Read certainly was out of position and if played has to be in the middle, Knight was not prepared to move on to the ball from the flicks that Iwelumo won, living where I do I can only comment from what I have seen on the tv but I would leave him on the wing and play Hart from the start with Iwelumo, bring in Mayo for Harding. No doubt I will have upset some of you but still.

We need to attack via the full backs. Use the extra wide space. Forget defending deep. Stick Oatway on Roberts to keep their playmaker in check.

Well I was there last nnight and would say you have it spot on. Harding was the weakest link for sure and never looked comfortable. Reid was totally ineffective and swapping him for Hart made such a difference, its no good looking good on the ball if youre not going to put any effort in!

And Leon, well, possibly the worst performance of his season, just didnt look bothered at all!

Warm up with Guiness I reckon. Get pissed early, make a good start. Then (hopefully) 90 minutes of drama, followed by a period of elation, then further drinking. As a warm down, perhaps a cold drink or two.

Obviously tactics may have to be altered on the day, things don't always go exactly according to plan as we've seen lately. I reckon the drinking's going to feature pretty much whatever happens though.

The tactics on the pitch? This morning, I can't say I care too much yet. For now, I'd just like to say YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS! :drink:
