The ironical thing is that the head groundsman at The Bernabau is an Englishman. Couldnt we entice him back to sort out Wembley especially as it is rumoured that the Wembley pitch could prevent us getting the World Cup.

its not the groundsman's fault. if that was the case they would just give the arsenal groundsman a fortune and let him pop across London to sort it out (considering highbury/emirates has won the best pitch award for donkeys years).

its continued re-laying of the pitch due to it need to accommodate concerts/differing sports/events.

Both highly raterd strikers Austin for Swindon and Morrision for Millwall have failed to hit the target succesfully. Perhaps they also sell them possibly to Huddersfield who may be in the running for [promotion next season.

The obvious answer is dont have such events as that stupid American game called Football on it and use wooden covers for concerts etc.

Whats Wilson playing at taking Paynter off

Doubt he's 100% fit, he missed one of the semi finals with some kind of injury didn't he?

unfortunately the obvious response would be that we wouldn't have a stadium as it couldn't be financed. The NFL game RAKES in the monies

They play one or two American football games a year on it. Clearly if the pitch was in a decent condition to start with, one or two games wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. And I'm sure they do cover the pitch for concerts.

If they must have that there then more care should be taken with the planning to allow the ground to be repaired and not relaid. I fail to see how that games ruins the pitch so much as it is only like an uneducated form of rugby.

Not this time!

Good good, didn't want Swindon to go up anyway.

Unless they have money to spank on players this summer I can't see them doing so well again this time around. Millwall, on the other hand, were likely to be there or thereabouts.

Shame we still have to go to Swindon again, but there you go. I bet poor old Danny Wilson bloody LOVES the play offs...

Interesting to note that Morison got plenty of stick from Millwall fans during the first two or three months of the season, because they thought, based on a few appearances, that he wasn't good enough for League One having come up from non-league.

Frankly I was indifferent but my neighbour is a Millwall fan so I am pleased for him. As far as it goes I think they deserved it anyway.

The Austin fairytale is well and truly blown apart after that game.

I was wondering why Swindon were wearing a white and blue kit today, despite the fact that Millwall were in all-blue, therefore there was no reason why Swindon couldn't have worn their usual red strip. Not surprisingly, they had a few complaints from their fans about the decision.

Danny Wilson's reasoning was apparently not that it was a superstition issue, but "because it's going to be a hot day, and the team will need to keep their cool as much as possible. I think wearing white is what everybody would say will help us".

It's been predicted with a degree of certainty all week that the weather today was likely to be crap, so I have no idea where Wilson got that from. Are Swindon folk still relying on seaweed and the position of the local cows for their weather forecasts? So now their players are probably cold, wet AND gutted. Brilliant decision, Danny :dunce:

Very gracious interview from Danny Wilson after the game. He's a top man. Clever and insightful. Would love him to manage the Albion one day. (Obviously not now).
