According to the website they have shown the team for the away game at Scarborough, also it is dry here at the level in Brighton, but raining at my dads house in Hollingbury.

Whats the weather check in Hove as I am about to head out, oh and any proper team news if anyone knows.

They have added this now at the bottom of the page;

Sussex take on Yorkshire in the LV County Championship at The County Ground, Hove: CJ Adams*, CD Collymore, MW Goodwin, CD Hopkinson, JD Lewry, RSC Martin-Jenkins, CD Nash, MJ Prior+, OP Rayner, Mohammad Sami, TMJ Smith, LJ Wright and MH Yardy.

Sussex take on Yorkshire in tomorrow’s vital LV County Championship relegation battle.

Only four points separate the two teams, which sets up a nail-biting final match of the season. However, with only thirteen points separating fourth to eighth place, any one of five teams could realistically be relegated with Surrey to Division Two.

At the conclusion of this match, Chris Adams will hand over the captaincy to Mike Yardy after eleven years at the helm.

The NatWest Pro40 trophy will be on show during the match and spectators can have their photo taken with the latest piece of silverware to make it into Sussex’s trophy cabinet.

The match is due to start at 10.30am.

I believe 9 points keeps us up for another year.

Gough omitted himself the other day. I'm not sure if Vaughan not playing makes them weaker or stronger. It certainly makes it bloody difficult to defend his selection for the India tour when it happens

I heard that Gough, Vaughan and Rana are all injured and will not play

Gough retired after the last game so will not play. I imagine Yorks are desperate to play and put out their strongest squad as they need to win or stop us getting any bonus points. Will be a blow if they are without two of their best players.

Ramprakash hints he might move on from Surrey

Cricinfo - Ramprakash hints he might move on from Surrey

Mark Ramprakash has dropped hints that he might not stay at Surrey after 2009 if things don't change. The county were relegated from Division One of the County Championship after finishing the season without a win.

In his column in the Daily Telegraph, Ramprakash said that the departure of coach Alan Butcher earlier this week had left a void at The Oval and he was waiting to see how it was filled.

"I have a year left on my contract and I don't really want to finish my career in Division Two," he wrote. "I feel pretty good physically and I'm confident I can play for another three years but a lot of things go into the mix - motivation, enjoyment of the game and wanting to be part of something good. At the moment it is a case of waiting to see who is going to replace Alan and what their vision is for the club."

Ramprakash was stand-in captain for most of the summer after Mark Butcher was sidelined from June with a knee injury, but he uses his column to make clear that he was not at the heart of many decisions. "Right from the very beginning I said I was happy to carry out the orders on the field but I was conscious that I was a stand-in captain and that it was not my show. Policy and selection was still down to the coach and Mark Butcher. At the end of the day you can only take things so far."

If Ramprakash wants to carry on for another three years, it is clear he wants to do so in the top flight of the domestic game. If that isn't with Surrey, then it seems increasingly clear he will consider moving on.

He has a benefit in 2009 and his contract is up at the end of the summer, leaving him free to look at other options. Even though he will be 40 by then, his continuing excellent form - he again topped 1000 runs and averaged 61.25 in 2008 - would make an attractive, if expensive, prospect for a number of counties. He left his previous county, Middlesex, after collecting his benefit, even though in that instance he had a year remaining on his contract.

Ramprakash also admitted that things haven't been right at Surrey for some time. "If you look at the past five years then you can see we have been a side in transition and not realistic title contenders. In 2004 we narrowly avoided relegation, we went down in 2005, were promoted in 2006 but the following summer we occupied one of the bottom two spots until the final two weeks of the season."

Yep Ramps and Nash opening the batting sounds great. Ramps must have scored loads of runs at the county ground, would just be runs I could appreciate in the future.

I noticed something quite strange this morning. The team that's definetely down has the two best batsmen( on averages) of the season and the next bottom two (us and Yorkshire) have the next two best batsmen.

Both Trescothick and Langer out already as Somerset 30-2 against Lancs, and Kent are 0-1

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't any form of draw good enough for us to stay up?

I believe so

Sort of, unless a draw is made where Yorkshire get 5 more bonus points than us and other results don't go in our favour.

Say Yorks get 400-2 dec, then bowl us out for 180. Yorks get 8 bonus points we get 0. Yorks then get 400 batting second setting us 620 to win, we then have a great second innings and get 400 for 6 and the game peters out into a draw. It is quite unlikely but is possible.

I think if we bowl them all out in 130? overs and then get over 200 when we bat, if the game ends in a draw I think we will stay up whatever happens.
