Surrey are 371 runs ahead of Lancashire now. I think they'll set a target of over 500 which they should get to by late afternoon.

That'll give them an hour or so to bowl at them this evening.

so if you take off his boundaries it took him 249 balls to score 30

That's PROPER cricket is that. Sir Geoffrey would be reet proud.

BORING, just noticed this, although he carried his bat, zzzzzzzzzz

DKH Mitchell not out 70, 351minutes, 259 balls, 10 fours, 0 sixes, strike rate 27.02

so if you take off his boundaries it took him 249 balls to score 30
Epicly boring. He carried his bat and scored less than a third of his team's total.

A Geoffrey Boycott for the 21st century.

I trust Mark Ramprakash will be invited to be guest of honour at the wake which will follow our embarrassing defeat tomorrow evening

better than having a 100 strike rate, we would have had to bat again then

Come on Sussex, I am steaming through my work in case I've have to dash over.

Get Mushy on...

How many will turn up in the morning if we are in a good looking position.

Surrey lose a wicket, but Ramprakash is still there, aiming for his 2,000 runs and 100 average.

Butcher gon. Slurry 190-3. that's a shame - all the time he was out there enjoying himself, the less likely he was to declare!

I certainly am planning to .........but only till lunch

Am I reading the statistics properly?

Ramprakash needs to get to 104 to reach 2,000 runs for the season and an average of 100.

But if he achieves that and bats on, and then gets out, his average drops below 100 - unless he gets to 204.

If Surrey are playing this for Ramps to get to both targets, they MUST declare when he reaches 104.

That would leave them with a lead of about 440. Not an impossible target for Lancashire in the time that would be available.

The best scenario for Sussex would be for Ramprakash to fail to reach his 2,000 runs and for Surrey then to concentrate on beating Lancashire (or at least not losing).

Mitchell wants to get home: he's on a suicidal runfest: 16 from 22 balls

It is looking like our match will be over by lunch tomorrow and we'll all have to wait for Lancs to do their thing tomorrow.

The things about Surrey's expected declaration is that the draw is not a factor. Lancs will have to go for it regardless of the time and overs left. Therefore to declare with anything less than a 500 lead is idiotic.
