[Albion] Sussex Police admit there was no knife or knuckleduster confiscated at the Palace game

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
The 'pyros in the away end of the stadium' clearly WAS the the case. As plod would clearly have known if they'd been inside the away end of the stadium doing their job properly instead of outsourcing to minimum wage away 'stewards' who looked the other way for 85 of the 90 minutes and joined in the general failure of duty of care to those fans in the away end. Basically they were abandoned to self-police. Shame on all involved - including the Albion security supervisors. Just won't do :nono:

I thought most of the stewards in the away end were Palace.

As my post clearly says. Look at the word before 'stewards'. Hence them either not giving a shit or being instructed not to give a shit. Basically the entire away end was completely abandoned for 85/90th's of the game to self-police. Which is a total disgrace and failure of duty of care. And that duty of care in OUR stadium in the end comes down to OUR club, not theirs.

Looking forward to the Lessons Learned Report being made public and acted upon. Preferably before the Cup tie.

I am really peeved about this. The HF had done enough to warrant action on some individuals but now the police just look ****ing ridiculous perverting the course of justice, just a joke

Im confused by this. Passed to us and believed to be true? What sort of policing is that? If Chief Inspector Nelson only believed it was true as his tweet says it implies he hadnt seen any evidence at the time of coming out to the national press. Sussex Police force just look like a major shambles.

edit: aplogies dont know how to embed a tweet.

Let's be clear on this. Right up to some point in the future where some of his colleagues 'logged' notes may (or more likely may not) be produced, all that knives and knuckledusters BS seems to be coming from just one source: Chief Inspector Simon Nelson.

Anyone smell fish? ???

Rob Sutherland has just posted this :
We have submitted another FOIA Request with Sussex Police.

We feel that the amendments they've made to the original statement, and the apology tweeted by CI Nelson, have just prompted further questions rather than answers.

Keep pushing through official FOI channels. Boy done good this far

Sussex police fully deserve to be kept on the back foot for their non-policing of genuine feral threats on the night (who had been highly visible in town all afternoon) in favour of kettling harmless bobble-hatted ticket holders. Far easier to police - and utterly dishonest in proportion to the actual threat to law and disorder. Same as it ever was.

Agree completely.
