Sussex CCC v Kent CCC (Official Thread)

NSC's Most Stalked
Massive.

County are head to head with their opponents for a play-off place. I'm off to Bristol Rovers tomorrow, but I'm tormented by the thought that staying on the train and jumping off at Newport might be the thing to do.

I cant allow that to happen, there will be a finest pint of fosters/carleberg/carling/stella waiting for you in Bristol at 11am

NSC's Most Stalked
That's very kind of you. However ... I am meeting your cycling companion at Paddington at 11.00 am.

Keep the beer fresh and I'll drink it closer to kick-off.

She said, I called it a PATHETIC start to the day, we will have been in Bristol for 45 mins by the time you leave London village

Anyway, we will have the cricket wrapped up tomorrow winning by 87 runs

336 ahead, they are bringing on Mahmood.

RMJ and Aga getting the runs on the board.

Only 80 odd overs left in the day, Adams will have to declare soon if he wants to try and Mushy them all out.

50 partnership and then RMJ out

Come on Sussex, we need wickets now, close game

Kent need 337 to win with an impresive batting line up, good weather and only a weakend bowling line up to stop them.

66 extras from Kents bowling 'attack'

are cricinfo sure they've got the right Mahmood down as playing for Kent?

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Azhar Mahmood is a mentally tough allrounder and belligerent batsman, who began his career with three Test centuries against South Africa. In one-day cricket he invariably raises the tempo in the lower middle-order. He is strong off his legs and relishes short bowling. But he pushes at the ball too firmly in defence, and is particularly vulnerable against legspin. In a team of reverse-swingers he is the only English-type seamer, virtuous in his pursuit of line and length. He is a useful fielder and, close in, he rarely misses an opportunity to enquire about the batsman's health. During a one-month stint as a Surrey overseas player in 2002 he took 8 for 61 against Lancashire, then turned out for them for two seasons full-time as Pakistan's mercurial lost faith in him for reasons that have never quite been made clear. He signed with Surrey again for 2005, and later applied for British citizenship after marrying his British wife. He signed for Kent in late 2007 on a two-year deal. Will Luke November 2007

Who is in charge of the Mushy-meter today? Surely it hasn't been left unattended on the 4th afternoon of a championship match at Hove...?

I would volunteer, but I am about to toddle off down to Hove to watch us battle in vain against a batting master class from Kent.
:greenwithenvy: hope you have a lovely afternoon in the Hove sunshine... I think I'll just stay indoors looking after my son while my wife GOES TO THE CINEMA :censored:

Is Gariani Jr not old enough to enjoy the pleasures of an assured Sussex defeat?
well, at 11 months old I would have thought so, but he has been a little under the weather recently and his mother felt he would be better off at home listening to Leesy...

Gariani Jnr is getting really pissed off with Leesy's witterings about Kent chasing this down and his comparisons with Twenty20 scores...
