Going better than Durham at Edgbaston. After choosing to field, they currently have Warwickshire 224/0 off 41 overs. Both openers having now reached 100.
Not just both got 100. Almost beautiful symmetry, too...

Yates not out 119 136 balls 17x4, 1x6 192 mins 87.50
Davies not out 117 137 balls 17x4, 1x6 192 mins 85.40

When I checked the score again just now, they were on 191 and 192 respectively (Yates was dismissed a while ago, must have sped up a bit). Durham have conceded 415 for their single wicket.

More generally, there seem to be a reasonable number of overs bowled by spinners considering the time of year, which is nice to see. Somerset have even actually picked Bashir this week. Lancashire haven't picked Hartely, I assume they think their overseas journeyman can get them through.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Not sure that dropping Carter is the right move, surely has some credit in the bank after how well he played last season.
He's suffering a bad attack of the rampaging Pujaras.

360/6, a lead of 22.

A very useful 72 partnership so far (Lamb and Simpson), which could swing the match.

I don’t get it, who are all these people scoring runs and not called Pujara?

I am most bewildered by this. This is poor form from Sussex. This was not the start to the season I was expecting from them.
