I read "On Captaincy" a year or so ago.I'm reading Brearley's latest book 'Turning the pebbles'. I'm getting lost in psychoanalytical matrix at the moment.
Highly recommend if you haven't read it in the 30years or so since it came out.

In the days of the Botham frenzy, he was my cricket hero. It was more his nature as a person I was drawn to. I aspired to be like him. I read 'Phoenix from the Ashes' as a 13 year old but none of his others. Captaincy never really applied to me, I was always likely to read books by bowlers.I read "On Captaincy" a year or so ago.

It's just a really good cricket book in general. In the days of the Botham frenzy, he was my cricket hero. It was more his nature as a person I was drawn to. I aspired to be like him. We nearly won the game according to Paul Fabrace and he's really proud of them. #TitanicknowsnothingDraw. #lucky
What was the result by the way ?Found it
Chill out I was just highlighting someone said it was going to be a ‘bore draw’ and it was one of the most exciting games in the county champs for a long time I think. What was the result by the way ?
With all 4 results still possible in the last over after 4 days of county championship cricket, that was a classic.Chill out I was just highlighting someone said it was going to be a ‘bore draw’ and it was one of the most exciting games in the county champs for a long time I think.

Do you mean “position of total dominance” to mean “certain to win” or “certain not to lose”. If it’s the former at what point were we in that position? What I do know is that from a position of total dominance, we very nearly and completely needlessly lost the game and Paul Farbrace is covering his arse and thanking his lucky stars.
We were only dominant in the sense that the draw was there for the taking on Wednesday morning if we kept batting.Do you mean “position of total dominance” to mean “certain to win” or “certain not to lose”. If it’s the former at what point were we in that position?
I'm not watching so missed it. But we're 101-2 off 8.4 overs so doing ok (unless the boundary ropes have been moved up to the edge of the square).Anyone see the one-handed crowd catch? Apparently he gets a grand for that!
