I tell you what, I'll answer your above question when you answer mine. I'll make it a little more concise for you as you may have lost it in my last post?

Are you happy to state as fact that Tomkins was first choice, given that it has not been reported anywhere that that was the case?

I have a mate who knows Dom Fifield, a journalist at the Guardian, he told me this was the case.

What your mate tells you is not proof of anything, and neither is him knowing a journalist - as you have already pointed out in relation to what was actually reported about the Dunk bid.

Your look a fool if it happens. Don't see why it's so unlikely, we have money to spend, would need a replacement if Wilf goes and Knockaert is one of the best players in the Championship. I'm sure he'd like to test himself in the Prem.
Then I won't look a fool because it won't happen. No chance. Zero chance.

All rather a desparate attempt at deflecting the thread away from Zaha.

Busted.

We would never sell to your mob. And Knockaert already HAS had a chance to test himself in the Prem.

Would be a strange one. Zaha was supposedly happy at Palace so unless something has changed massively in the last few weeks I'd expect this is just his agent trying to get him a new deal. His wages are significantly lower than our top earners (Benteke, Cabaye, Mandanda) and probably feels a bit hard done by considering he was our player of the year last season.

That said, if he was to leave, Knockaert would almost certainly be on the list as a replacement. He's a very good Championship so he'd probably back himself to make the step up. He'd probably set us back £10m+ but that's peanuts in this day and age for a PL club.

Then I won't look a fool because it won't happen. No chance. Zero chance.

What a strange thing to say. I know you'd rather not sell your best player to your rivals but if we turned Knockaert's head (which would be extremely easy) then it puts Bloom in a difficult situation. If we forget about the Palace/Brighton thing for a moment, a Premier League club selling their winger and replacing him with the best winger from the Championship isn't exactly dreamland stuff, is it? We'd offer him £50k+ per week, he'd ask you to match it (you couldn't) and then he'd ask to leave. I'm not saying we're definitely going to sign him, but it's definitely a realistic possiblity.

The chances of Tony selling Knockaert to palace are less than him selling the club.

This is just desparate thread deflection away from Zaha.

Pardew always starts falling out with everyone after 12-18 months... time to get rid Of Super Injuction Al i would think or risk a relegation battle...

I don't think we're in for a relegation battle (and neither do the bookies) but something certainly seems fishy at the moment. I'm not massively concerned because a poorly trained monkey could keep this Palace side in the league with the squad we've got, but I wouldn't be totally against Pardew going. Sometimes he's a great manager, sometimes he's a crap manager, but he's always a knob.
