U-16, fairly prestigious tournament apparently. This is the final for the best four teams. There’s a load of other finals for teams who didn’t do as well in the group.

Mix of Irish county teams, independent academies and a few football league academies (Us, Man U, Middlesbrough, Rangers etc)

Been going on all week. It’s U16, they won all their group games and got through the semi on penalties (don’t worry, winning on pens will be coached out of them as they progress ). Tournament has been in existence for about 40 years or something and is a big deal locally (parade through the town the day before it starts etc), and the list of ‘big’ players that have played there over the years has a few decent names on it. Albion were invited for the first time last summer.

Pens underway. We seemed to be stubbornly baiting the press De-Zerbi style but had limited success in breaking through. Our captain looks a prospect and some tidy play elsewhere too.
