Good post, I am particularly enjoying rereading the post as you remember how many players we have and adding them to your list. Players I too had also forgot we had. For example, Alzate.I do really think we need quite a large overhaul and refresh. Would like to see quite a few changes as we do carry a lot of deadwood. We lack genuine quality, physicality and players in their prime years in a lot of areas.
Unless we make some serious changes, I think we will have a real struggle next season. Players I’d move on:
Milner
Lamptey
Webster
Gilmour
Moder
Fati (obviously)
Mcgill
Peupion
Undav
Sima
Leonard
Weir
Turns
Dahoud
Alzate
Sarmiento
There are probably some under 21’s we can move on too.
That should free up further funds in addition to the profits we’ve already made to make some proper signings in addition to Osman and any other loaned out/under 21 players we think can step up.
I would keep Steele as third choice and add Lallana to coaching staff and play him occassionally when needed as a late sub. He can’t start now.
So, out of interest ..... which clubs do you think will be knocking down Albion's door, demanding to buy players (and pay them more than they are on at Albion) that are now generally deemed not good enough for Albion? The clear out includes sales.
Albion ….. please don’t exercise the Milner option.
Lists also include loans, mutual agreements to terminate contracts to aid leaving on a free transfer. Any departure that means the mentioned players are not part of the 2024/25 first team squad in August. Also worth mentioning dead wood for a mid table Premier League can be world beaters at championship clubs or clubs across Europe. So, out of interest ..... which clubs do you think will be knocking down Albion's door, demanding to buy players (and pay them more than they are on at Albion) that are now generally deemed not good enough for Albion?
Where is this magic player tree? Because some of those exits leave a serious experience gulf and massive positional weakness and another bunch of south American kids won't be enough.

I know, our squad is huge!Good post, I am particularly enjoying rereading the post as you remember how many players we have and adding them to your list. Players I too had also forgot we had. For example, Alzate.
Other than the obvious ones like Milner I’ll be honest I don’t know the contract situations of most our players without looking it upDoesn't Alzate just leave for free when his contract expires the Summer?!

Webster to Pompey. Big Chichester signing. The market will decide. Set the transfer fee for Webster, Lamptey etc at a level where that attracts interest and have a discussion that they’re not likely to feature.
That’s how clubs have operated since transfers have been around. Footballer autobios explain just that, how they reluctantly were moved on.
Who’d be interested in Lamptey and Webster? Bottom half PL clubs wanting in those positions, overseas clubs, Championship clubs with parachute money.
Webster to Pompey. Big Chichester signing.
How much do you think a newly promoted from League One club are paying in wages ? Not a chance he goes back to PortsmouthWebster to Pompey. Big Chichester signing.
Numpty keeper who got us to 6th, a celebration that if it was in my power to take away from an ingrate like you, I wouldYou are a strange poster happy to defend a numpty keeper and then slag of the board
Nail on head! So, out of interest ..... which clubs do you think will be knocking down Albion's door, demanding to buy players (and pay them more than they are on at Albion) that are now generally deemed not good enough for Albion?
What on earth is Gilmour doing on that list…I do really think we need quite a large overhaul and refresh. Would like to see quite a few changes as we do carry a lot of deadwood. We lack genuine quality, physicality and players in their prime years in a lot of areas.

You must be forgetting the games Sanchez played in then which is convenient I suppose. Resulting to personal insults to make a point is never a good look.Numpty keeper who got us to 6th, a celebration that if it was in my power to take away from an ingrate like you, I would
Nail on head!
Some people seem to think we can just put player X in the shop window, tell Fabrizio that Chelsea, West Ham and some random foreign club are interested and that Brighton's asking price is £12M and the job's a good 'un. You know, like what it is on Football Manager!
I think he’s incredibly average and over rated. A weak link in the side. I know that’s not a popular opinion with some fans as he’s a busy player who plays a lot of safe, un-productive passes so some think he’s better than he really is. He offers nothing productive from an attacking point of view and absolutely nothing defensively. Physically weak and no pace. We can do a lot better. What on earth is Gilmour doing on that list…
The 'numpty keeper' did, of course, only play for a little over a third of the matches that got us to 6th. The other 23 matches, we had a different GK between the sticks. Mustn't mention that, though - bad fan!Numpty keeper who got us to 6th, a celebration that if it was in my power to take away from an ingrate like you, I would.
I think there is a general under-estimation of the size of squad you need to be competitive in this murderous league. Injuries are way more commonplace now. Players when they recover from injuries aren’t at their peak - see Enciso and Estupian. I’m not saying don’t move some players on but if we don’t want a season’s collapse again that we are currently witnessing, we need a big squadWe already have one of the biggest squads in the league (thank goodness given our injuries), if we don't get rid of a decent amount of players but do sign some we will have a Chelsea style squad.
