the sound of the Impreza is just about the best thing on the road, after the Carrera 4S turbo or an Aston V12. something about flat 4/6 engine, sound like the racers in Star Wars 1 (in a good way)

Sound of a boxer engine is unique

ha ha two mugs who don't like the truth, i've got a fast car , I'M IMPRESSED

Look if you don't like the thread then don't write on it.....
I'm looking for a family sized car that is a bit more fun to drive than a bloody Mondeo!
If you had bothered to read the whole thread you'd have realised that!
I'm not a teenager trying to impress the girls!
Do one please...

Are you serious? Type 6k into auto trader and take a look, you can get a very nice BMW or an Audi for that money!
Yes I'm completely serious. If you just want a nice smart car, buy yourself a golf. But some people like fast cars, and Scoobies tend to be pretty quick, and for the money there's little that comes close.

A Scooby is a family car too :)

Damn didnt think like that - got a 2ltr turbo signum now - didnt think I would get over the Civic but loving this one, although not sporty really, lovely interior and spacious. Have promised my wife once kids grown up I would have another quick car, fancy a Focus RS or the Insignia VXR (lovely motor)

I am in full support of the Subaru line of vehicles. My mum had an Impreza, not a WRX mind you, but it was a quality car. She hadn't had a single problem with it until she hit a deer. But then again, most cars would have a problem with that. As stated above, just check the interior for signs of wear to make sure the mileage hasn't been tampered with.

Well I guess it's each to their own, I like cars as much as the rest of you ( I have 5.3 V12 Jaguar E type Roadster ) but if I had 6k to invest in a motor i'd buy a nice, German, sports edition saloon. I find Impreza's a little, I don't know, stupid? Then again I am married with kids so i'm probably well out of touch :)

Good luck, what ever you buy!

Thanks for the input so far fellas...
Still not entirely sure which way to go!
I guess what the OP should have said is 'I have 6k to spend on a sporty but practical car - please help!'

Of course, otherwise we'd all be in the same style of car.

Well they certainly are stupid fast. I personally like the styling, but of course others won't. But it's the mental speed that most attracted me, something not many cars have.

Don't do it they have had their day. If it's six years old and only done 28k i would seriously get that checked out.
Why check it out?its very common for high performance cars to have low mileage as they are not used for pounding up and down the country.Im thinking of getting an M3 soon as bargains are out there to be had.
