Stayed there before the England game in Frankfurt last summer and went back for the second round.

Fairly modern place, did find a few bars tucked away on the side streets from the main square (where the Fans Park was) and the area round there was where they had a Wine Festival on (for about 2 weeks), so I guess the Beer Festival will be there.

The Cannstatt Volksfest there is fantastic, I went for work (!) a few years back - best not nearly to be sick on a tram, as I nearly was. It's like an Oktoberfest but without as many tourists.

The rest of the city is nice enough but a bit bland - the setting is the nicest thing about it, in a valley. But, in the town where CARS were basically invented, I think both Mercedes and Porsche (who are based there) have museums, which I imagine will be decent.

Good idea. Whilst on a beer fest weekend why not try and fit in a :drink:............visit to the local automobile museum.

My husband is over there right now. Where abouts are you staying? He flies back Satdee morning and back right after the game to do whatever men do on a beer weekend.

Staying at the Mercure City Center wherever THAT is.

I went for an art festival and Cortijo on the friday night was pretty good, it was a bit trendy for me but it was good fun.No idea if that is local to where you are staying though.
