Stuttgart - anyone been?

Off to Stuttgart this weekend - Beer festival on the Saturday but where to go Friday night? Anyone been? Recommendations greatfully received.

I went once, years ago, there was a decent Irish bar near the centre where most of the Brits seemed to hang out. Might be worth starting off there and getting the lowdown on where to go on to.

Each to their own but why would anyone want to drink Guinness when there's a massive German beer festival going on 5 minutes tram ride away? Iron deficiency?
