Hereford game: (which they were watching more intently)
Person1: When Reinelt scored the Goldstone erupted for the last time ever. It was heart breaking stuff
Person 2: Yeah i know what you mean

At which point I said to them:
"That match was away - the last game at the Goldstone was the Donny game we just saw"

Person 1: No mate, you've got the wrong season. My girlfriend works in the ticket shop so i can remember it quite well.....

After that, I couldn't be bothered to argue.

That's got to be the winner. Sadly there are plenty of people out there prepared to believe their own bullshit

My inclination is to vote for the minute's applause which seems to have sprung up out of nowhere as a way of showing respect. Buggered if I was going to join in that for the likes of Alan Ball. Tho in its way less worse than the minutes silence for an Albion luminary at Withdean where it was deemed a good idea for a bloke dressed in a seagull costume to stand head bowed miming being all respectful like in the centre circle with the players and officials. Cue five thousand set of shoulders shaking in painfully silent mirth. Longest sixty seconds of my life :lolol:
