I got put on a selection longlist to run to be a TD (MP) for a major party; without being told they were doing it the *******s. Amazingly you don't get selected without actually campaigning, who'd have thought it.

Nigel Spink ex Villa and England was my goalkeeper in the U15's team.
Rod Harrington R/U in the News Of The World darts final to Taylor in 1995, and now darts pundit on Sky, used to sit next to me at school in maths. He was captain of our school football team, and we both went to county trials together.
About 10 years ago i was working at Chi hospital on the theatres, a grey haired chap was about to go in for his appointment, and we had a brief chat. He came out and i wished him well.....i had no idea who he was, my mate seemed to recognise him, so i asked the nurse who she had just seen.....she was also not aware who he was, so she checked. It was David Gilmour, Pink Floyd. I reckon he probably thought i knew who he was....nice chap.

I had a cup of tea with Quentin Crisp in the lanes in 1985.

I bored Dave Gahan to death at the Wag Club once.

I chatted to Hugh Cornwell in Maida Vale. We were both driving 1970's Citroen DS's.

Graham Hill (F1 World Champion back in the 1960's and FAR cooler bloke than Damon Hill) ran over my foot with the rear tyre of his Lotus 49 in the paddock at Oulton Park in 1967 - I was a star struck young fan too busy looking at all the F1 Cars and not looking where I was going.

Strangely I don't recall it hurt particularly, perhaps because they were big tyres, certainly didn't tell my Dad about it or would have got a clip around the ear for wandering off.

Also pretty certain Jack Brabham, Jochen Rindt and Jackie Stewart (also all F1 World Champions) drove at that meeting as well but none of them ran over my foot so can't claim any connection with them. :(

I sat at a table in a GAA bar in Ardoyne and drank soup with Gerry Adams and Gerry Kelly after an Easter Rising commemoration march in 2011. It was very serial as I was 14 at the time!

Jeremy Beadle stuck his finger up my nose as a child whilst we were having our picture taken.

I have shaken hands with Cynthia Payne. Think about it.

John Inman once told me I had a nice jumper.

I went to school with Honeysuckle Weeks (from 'Foyles War' fame).

I've served David Gilmour a couple of times at work.

I've taken a piss next to Richard Wright.
