A Boro friend of mine is well against Southgate coming back as 'he doesn't have any mangerial qualitfications'

Points to prove him wrong?

I've got Chelsea, Boro, Albion and Rotherham all to win their leagues as my big bet.

So sooner WGS goes the better (although may be too late to win that league)

I rate Strachan only because he bought Virgo from us for a ridiculously inflated sum which helped to keep us afloat. It was, however, an act which shows what an incompetent buffoon he is as a manager.

I love the fact that Gus will be linked to jobs - it shows how well he is doing and as long as he stays put until we are settled in the Championship that's fine. I really think he is the type of person who will actively develop a succession strategy to ensure that when he does inevitably go we will be able to continue our progress and style

I think people are over-playing this Middlesbrough is a dump stuff. There are some very nice and very expensive places just outside the place. Yarm is renowned for being where the rich hang out and the there's also fantastic countryside around there.

I once had a week's holiday in the area (which took in a trip to Middlesbrough to see Brighton play) and there's a massive contrast between the town itself and its surroundings.
Troublewith your argument is the nice parts of middlesborough aren't in er middlesborough....

Any manager that rates themselves will believe they can get that Boro squad back into the Prem this season. They're only 7 points off a play-off place after all.

It's fortunate Mowbray and Phil Brown are around, because that's the sort of job I'd expect there to be mutual interest from Boro AND Poyet.

Most managers at the top of League 1 would still walk away if offered a job in the Prem or with a big Championship club in a position to contend for promotion.

Where's Middlesborough? Is that near Middlesbrough? :lolol:

The point I was making is that if you're manager there, you'll only see the place for a few hours a week (I bet the training ground isn't in the town itself). It would be like saying Manchester Utd couldn't attract a decent manager because Manchester is a shit-hole.

Christ, word certainly spreads from our small minority of moaning bastards down here dunnit.

Jeez, it's only a handful of people - that's not a good reputation to have.

Credit to wee Gordon, it appears this one really was mutual consent, as Gibson has said of Gordon "he ripped up his contract". Sounds like he has accepted he did a bad job and agreed to walk away, with no compensation.

I used to like Gordon, he was a a bit like Ian Holloway with an edge. Then the witty qutes along with the results dried up. His interview a couple of weeks ago where he belittled the local Ian Hart was rather spiteful and lacking humour. Tara Gordon.

Brown looks excellent value at 6/1, but there has to be a reason Mowbray is so short.... Hmmm!

Honourable man. Not many of them left in the game.

All the more reason to shout the bastards down whenever they open their festering gobs.

As now like many exiled 'posters' you seriously have to think why leave Brighton ? Poyet has everything to win by staying with us (and he knows it) Should we get promoted then we are all 'in the same race' One final point and some of you that live in 'the south' just dont realise the difference.
