sadly in Scotland
Aberdeen have flights.
Yeh thanks, the one good thing about that early one is the plane usually starts from there (provided it gets there later tonight as it eases off) - it's one of my regular flights for LGW. So will check if it arrives this eve. Or watch Traitors and then just get in my car and start driving south!

Already some tasty/scary activity here. It’ll be even better when you can see them. All together now: Bosh! Easy now! He’s crabbing! Etc etc.

Yeah. Bring it on Mother…Nature!

Changed our plans for this weekend, was due ooop north in Manchester area and postponed because of the extreme warnings earlier this week. Beginning to regret now, seems overtly cautious. Calm outside and not even raining. Where’s the Armageddon we were promised?!
Anything south of Manchester is just a yellow warning for rain.

This country is a joke when it comes to weather and warnings. It seems every day now is a warning for some kind of weather.
I remember surviving the great hurricane in 87 and without any warnings.

The Great Storm in 87 was famously mentioned by Michael Fish on his weather forecast. :lolol:

To be fair to him, it was expected to hit France, not Britain, but the wind veered further north.

West is BEST
We do love a bit of weather.

To be fair, it’s pretty blowy on the coast. Crossing over the road by the Kings Road CoOp a minute ago tested the leg strength.

We had the phone alerts on 6th December while having an RSPB xmas party (yes, it was HARDCORE), after the initial utter confusion, the reaction was the most fantastically British thing you'll ever see - I've got a pint, I'm not moving. In our defence, we knew that the main event was a few hours away and were tucked up in bed well before the carnage began. Lost power for 5 days, broadband seemingly forever (more about that elsewhere), we lost about 10 trees, neighbour about 50. Took us an hour to reach another neighbour to check on her as we were having to cut branches and trees and clear them from the road. I think the alerts are a really good thing.

We're just amber today, it's bloody windy but not 7th December windy.

Pathetic effort at Heathrow. No go arounds, hardly even any crabbing worth a mention. BORING.

This so called storm is in another country (Scotland) basically. Ironically we’ve got blue sky this morning for the first time this year in Chilterns! I like storms… :)

I

ts not about being waterlogged, can Everton get down here?
The red warning is for Ireland and Scotland. Wales has got an amber alert.
England only has a yellow warning for rain, and it’s a bit breezy.

Edit to add. If anyone wants see the difference download the Ventusky App. It’s great for accurate weather.
