Stop Funding Quality Reporting and Great Travel and Food Sections? Good luck with that.

great post
but you forget cunning f , a left wing/socialist brexiter who showed up the champagne socialists like Herr T for what they were

How could I forget cunning f, an interesting and entertaining poster whose views would once have been commonplace but are now
marginalized by the liberal takeover. What particularly interests me is that the Liberal party itself has failed to capitalize on the upsurge of liberal values. I think it may be down to packaging in that it is deemed more acceptable to be under a Labour banner than the Liberal one whilst meanwhile insulting working class people and prioritizing globalization, the multinational driven EU project, open borders and green politics.

Well played Lego! They decide where to put their money and advertising, they aren't happy with the political stance of the Mail and have the right to disassociate with them. I wish more companies took that view.

You would have thought Lego would be wary of indulging in the same behaviour as those lovely tolerant Saudi Clerics ..

Danish producers feel heat of cartoon boycott

.. but then again they seem to bend over backwards to accommodate some extreme intolerant views ...

With respect, Lego can put their cash where they want. Pointing out what about this and what about that lot, because they happen to have withdrawn from the Daily Mail is no way of justifying them staying with the Mail. You may be pointing out contradictions in Lego, but like I said, it their money, they can do what they like. I think this has been highjacked by the SFH campaign, as I understand it, and has been written by another poster, Lego pulled away from the Mail off their own backs.

Is there an unusually high number of right wingers on this forum or do they just shout louder? I think it might be the latter.

I find it odd how people who hold liberal views are branded left wing - it really isn't the same thing at all.

I find it difficult to understand how a movement that seeks to fight against hate speak and bigotry (ideals seemingly in the DNA of the DM) can come into so much criticism,

This isn't an argument of free press - that's like using freedom of speech to defend racist and sexist language.

So anybody that dares to have a differing view point to you is a right wing racist. Ok I get it

Lego are the biggest ****ing sell out corporate shills out there. Hypocritical numpties. They sold out years ago when they started producing £400 licensed kits that allow for no imagination, just follow the instructions to build your pixelated, slightly naff Millenium Falcon. That should corner the nagging dollar and the idiotic "Kidults" who sit around playing games and high fiving other nerds at conventions dollar.

I loathe the Mail and all it stands for but these forms of media can, as well as being harmful, also act as a barometer for certain sections of the populations feelings.
In fact if the remain campaign had actually paid closer attention to the hysteria being spun by The Mail they could have directly addressed some of these issues. It was all outlined for them in The Mail, they could have used it as a bloody guidebook. Instead they told us world war 3 would happen.

I think the problem is that people who read the DM and buy into that rhetoric don't view what they say as hate speech or bigotry, merely an opinion and whilst opinions can be different they can never be wrong.

Note, I'm not personally of the view that an opinion cannot be wrong. For instance if I met someone who was of the opinion that an apple was an orange I'd throw apples at them.

I sometimes wonder if people ever read the DM past the headlines? Besides the fact that it is hateful nonsense the actual quality of the writing itself is just woeful. It's like someone took the Argus comments section, added a few bits of punctuation and then sent it to the presses.

That isn't selling out, it's identifying a market and targeting it, aka Business 101. You can still buy bags of assorted bricks and make whatever your mind can come up with.

Nice way to denigrate an entire sub-section of society there by the way.

They certainly can. As you say I was just pointing out some possible contradictions or hypocrisy in their decision making.

Ha! Fairs. Kidults are a bug bear of mine I'm afraid. I cannot stand all that stuff, in fact Mrs The Clamp sometimes refers to me as The Victorian Father, because I use traditional handkerchiefs and go for Sunday walks. I probably should lighten up but I'm too long in the tooth now.
