It's funny how I can sympathise entirely with Stockport in this situation of having to sell all their decent players, yet do nothing but laugh out loud at Pompey's similar predicament :lolol:

But that's the "big clubs" all over isn't it? I remember a few years back we were collecting money, ironically, for Bury and Albion fans managed to raise more money at Withdean than Manure fans at Old Trafford....That's why when we're a big successful Premier league club playing in the Champions League against Madrid, we should make donations to assist the other teams around Sussex like Lewes.

I'm liking the cut of your jib there, SS. A nice slice o' football supporter solidarity always warms me old cockles innit.

I'd love it if we got Baker and Fon-Williams, getting rid of Brezovan in the process.

By the way, Wes Hoolahan is the best goal scoring midfielding in League 1...BAR NONE!!!

Both have scored 13 goals so far this season the difference being that Baker has scored them for a poor team which is much more difficult than scoring them for a successful team as in Hoolihans case. So I stick by my original statement Baker is the best in Div 1 bar None.

For those indulging in pedantry we did not lose Johnson, although the way he has played this season he may as well have gone.

Looks like Baker will be signing for Coventry tomorrow. The others mentioned are (according to the media) attracting interest. Can't see Rose going as he is awaiting a double hernia op (he's been putting it off to help the team out).

I don't agree with the comment about being bottom of the league with 4 good players. For a start I would say that only Baker and Fon Williams are quality players at this level. The others are just above average, but IMHO are attracting attention because clubs know they can get them cheap. The reason we are bottom of the league is we only have about 6 players who would make it into an average league one squad. Once a few injuries and suspensions kicked in our frailties were really exposed.

Rumour is that we will come out of admin in mid Jan, but I won't be holding my breath. The financial backers are Horton and Tatum the guys involved in the failed P'boro bid a few years back.

You need your eyes testing old man...

Baker has scored 9 league goals and 1 in the FA Cup.

Hoolahan has scored 10 in the league, 2 in the FA cup and 1 in the League Cup.

By my reckoning I would say that means Hoolahan has scored more goals...Unless you're using a calculator made by Ken Bates!

Without checking, Baker scored a hat trick in the JPT if I am correct.

Horton, as in Brian Horton?

No Colin Horton, just a business partner of Tatum. Colin Horton's brother was the coach of a P'boro Ice Hockey team that Tatum owned for a while.

Saw today that Oli Johnson is going to Norwich?
Have to feel sorry for them. Stockport were 7th last year if i remember correctly until the financial problems kicked in. Looking at it, they had a quality team too.
Have they still got that young promising centre half, Raynes?

Yes Oli has gone today and Baker is on the verge of going. Raynes is still here but apparently attracting interest from Scunthorpe and yourselves. We have also sent our CF Peter Thompson on loan to Linfield (the team we bought him from) until the end of the season. To be fair he hasn't really been getting the goals but it does leave us with one recognised striker.
