It's under serious consideration unfortunately. Nothing to do with relegation / survival. It's a question of finances for me.

Ticket is creeping closer to £50 a month and ended up pissing away £50 yesterday on food and booze.

Planning on buying a house next year and getting on with starting a family. So money for football drops way down the priority list.

At this point I'm undecided, few more weeks to weigh it all up.

Nothing to do with the quality of the football, more about changes to our personal circumstances and finances; he is saving for a deposit to get his own place and with Mrs H recently joining me in early retirement, we are going to be doing a bit of travelling and are most likely going to be spending next winter abroad.

I'd only not renew if it became too difficult to attend, and climb all those stairs to West Upper, owing to infirmity (this will happen eventually).

Incidentally, not wishing to derail, is it not the case that when your legs go a bit Connex South Central the option is give up your seat in West Upper and sit at ground level, or give up your seat in West Upper?

There is a lift but it isn't for public use. Could one not try to persuade the club that forcing a longstanding season ticket holder out of his/her seat in West Upper because 'there is no disabled access' is a bit discriminatory, especially when there is a perfectly functional lift available? Asking for a friend, obviously.

Would indeed be good if the club could clarify their stance on how to officially deal with an ageing WSU demographic, or indeed somebody who just got zapped by, say, a bout of gout or a sudden knee op. Helluva hike up them stairs at the best of times. Entirely reasonable IMHO that folks should be able to apply to the club for special dispensation to use the available lift, in exactly the same way as official dispensation is given to keeping tops on water bottles or be fast-tracked onto the train platform post-match

Design fault initially at The Amex. The Bernabau has escalators which go up pre game and down post game and also in an emergency they can be used to vacate the stadium from different levels perhaps means walking down 1 flight of stairs.

I think that their argument is that it would have detrimental affect on lower league attendances for both League 1 & 2 and also non league.

Because the thinking is that a large part of the world aren't on their way to games with the traditional 3pm kick off whereas if matches were shown here at 3pm we would probably start to see crowds diminish, especially in the lower divisions. Personally, I agree with they shouldn't show games at 3.

If you only renew your season ticket when you think we will still be in the PL next season then with respect you are not a true fan.

A true fan surely supports a team whatever league they are in. If not go follow Man City or Liverpool if you only want to be associated with a global brand team .

Saying this I think we will just stay up, but it will be less than 2 points, either by a point or possibly even on goal difference. Can see 2 or 3 teams finishing on 38 points this season.

I don't mind at all if the PL bandwagon types p off if we're relegated. They don't make difference, we had huge gates before they jumped on the bandwagon.

We'll keep out ST's whatever division we're in.

Absolutely. Guy next to me may give up one of his tickets as his son has lost interest but if he does I'll buy it off him. Hang PB, didn't say that.

I was in an identical position to that in WSU.

The club allowed me to transfer my two front row seats to my WSU neighbours, so their block of 4 S/T's became 6.

(I know that's unfair on those on those wanting those seats, but it really did happen. Perhaps not these days?).

I think the non-league bit is the most important. The kind of level where 150 people turn up, and the bar takings are more important than what they pay to get in. Even losing 15 casual supporters if there's a particularly attractive game on TV would be a killer, and this country's footballing culture would be all the worse for it.

My son and I were having an honest conversation about this if the worst was to happen and we did go down. There’s no question we’ll still be there following the team next season but a genuine question is how many of our current first team squad do people actually think will leave ?

In my opinion - Dunky will definitely go, but then I think he’ll leave this summer anyway even if we stay up as I think the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal are crying out for a player like him and will come in for him. Propper will probably go and I assume Mooy has the same release clause in his contract as he had at Huddersfield so could get snapped up, possibly by a promoted team, likewise with Maty Ryan. But other than that I’m not sure how many other players will be on the shopping list of other clubs so we could have a decent squad to get us back up. Ben White will fill the gap left by Dunky, while Burn, Bernardo, Maupay, Murray, Stephens, Alzate, Connolly and Lamptey will do well for us in that league and I’m not sure Bissouma, Trossard, Jahanbakhsh, and Gross have done enough to cause other clubs to be clambering to sign them.

Propper, Bernardo, Maupay, Trossard, Dunk, Mooy, Ryan - I suspect would all want top flight football and insist on leaving. Short careers and all that, plus some would need to play at a higher level to further their international ambitions/sharpness.
