Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has admitted he has not seen any of his three deadline day signings play live. Kean told BBC Radio Lancashire that Grzegorz Sandomierski, Nuno Henrique and Diogo Rosado were all recommended by global advisor Shebby Singh. "They're in the club now and we can have a real look at them," said Kean. "I've not seen them play live. Shebby Singh was very excited about them coming here and was telling me how good they were."

I guess he trusts his scout. I can't take Kean seriously anyway, he's not a real manager in my book - may be a decent coach, i don't know, but a chicken-strangler lackey he is.

Shebby Singh was a decent pundit but the amount of power he seems to have been given is ridiculous. I can see Blackburn going tits up quicker than Jordan in a bathtub.

How many times do you think Poyet saw Orlandi, Dobbie and Lopez play prior to committing?

Dobbie quite a lot, and others a few times at the very least. Gus said he watches football 24-7.

Why?

I would say he knew enough about them and the style of play they have played at previous clubs.

I cant imagine Blackburn having a ethos at the club, so they could all be based on what one man thinks and then Kean will be expected to play them even if they don't fit in.

Obviously i am basing this all on assumptions, but I do believe Gus new about the players that were signed and what role they will play in the coming season.

You're guessing.

So are you. He would've definitely seen Dobbie in the flesh a few times, unless he went to those matches blindfolded. I AM guessing that Gus watches quite a lot of La Liga - so he would know about Lopez.

I think the key here is watching them live.

I would have thought a lot of football managers watch tapes of players and go off recommendations from their chief scout who will have watched them live, I'm sure. I doubt Alex Ferguson saw Buttland play live either, but he trusted his scout in Holland and bought the player over. However, less could be said about Bebe...

Is Shebby Singh the guy who said morten gamst pederson was past it?

In fairness, Kean says he hasn't seen them play live, doesn't mean he hasn't seen dvds of performances his advisers/scouts say are representative of their abilities.

I Dont think anyone on here would actually know, but if we had a Global Adviser, Do you think Gus would sign someone because he says so?

Imagine Paul Barber throwing a load of DVD's at him saying he reccomends these players to sign.....dont think so in my opinion

I guess most managers are watching their own team play on match days. Then rush home for SSN goal express!
