Coppells a loyal person, he wouldnt walk out on a club in the middle of his contract.

Didn't he bail out at Man City after a few days? I may be remembering this completely wrongly, but if so it wouldn't be the first time. Can't see it though. Think they'll go after Dowie - he looks a much more likely candidate to leave his current club, given Oldham's current troubles.

Not always but usually. I think Dowie must be odds-on (if they don't get Brooking that is).

Mark McGhee from Milwall to Reading would be the best option

A lot of people here think that Coppell wouldn't leave the Albion now because of loyalty. Well, what about Horton / Adams / Taylor? We are the managerial stepping stone club at the moment, why should Coppell be any different?

He took long enough to decide that he would commit to the Albion, and the Falmer situation is far from being cut and dried. The Hammers are still 2nd favourite to go up in Div 2 and only a whisker behind West Brom in the betting. There is still a lot of talent in the West Ham squad and any half-decent manager should get them up to the Premiership.

Remember, Knight overlooked Coppell for Hinshelwood, so Coppell may feel he doesn't owe us anything.

I would like to think Coppell is focused on the Albion, it's just that these days nothing surprises me anymore.

1) Coppell isn't Horton/Adams/Taylor.

Turkey, you're probably right, but the fact there's 3 names in 4 years means we should take nothing for granted, including loyalty.

Interesting list Wilts.

Might have a punt on Psycho at 25-1

Would Lou Reed be a suitable manager though? :)

I just cannot see it hapening. He knows what he's got here. His developing the team and looks set to have a succesful season.

At West Ham he'll have to cope with a lot more coverage and expectancy with no guarantee's of success. Not to see we will do well but he knows what we've got here.

He won't go. I'm 100% confident.

Same for Pardew... there's so much he still wants to achieve with us, and he's just spent money on building Reading FC around him, so I just can't see him going...

West Ham is too much of a risk for a sensible manager...

I'm usually a pessimist, but I agree with Turkey on this one. We're talking about Steve Coppell here, not Micky Adams or Peter Taylor. I don't think he shares the same ambition as them, of trying to lead a big club into the Premiership, he seems to be a different type of manager altogether.
